Obviously Scola is better... but if someone wants to argue Scola's contract and his potential for diminishing return with age vs JHill being an expiring conytract... maybe...
This is like asking if Champagne is better then used motor oil. : ) Yes, champagne does go flat, but it's still drinkable.
Jordan Hill's potential I'm glad to see so many people in support of Jordan Hill. Luis Scola is definitely the better player right now. Even though Hill may never have the offensive capabilities that Scola has, I want to believe that Hill is still very raw. Disregarding basketball IQ, and going on talent alone, Hill can be a major contributor down the road.
The only reason Hill is getting any votes in this poll is because the thread title is "Trade Hill or Scola?". I went to the poll and almost clicked on Hill before I realized it said "Who is the better player?" C'mon Dude, avoid the ambiguity if you want accurate results for your poll.

This was weak dude. You know that isn't what Rey said. He stated that in certain situations, Hill is a better option. Obviously, Scola is the better player especially offensively. But based purely on this season, Hill has shot a higher percentage, has twice as many blocks, and almost as many rebounds per game in HALF the minutes. So in summary, Scola is better offensively and Hill is marginally better defensively. But Scola is so bad defensively that even a marginal upgrade is substantial. As for who I'd rather trade, how about both? Anyway, this was a weak move by you, imatexan. At least frame the argument correctly.
I put Scola but I thought it said who we'd like to trade. Luis' contract is horrible and will look worse in a year or two. J Hill is at least expiring.
Trade both. Scola because his contract isn't what we need right now. Hill because he's gone after this season.
An admin must have changed the title of the thread because as the people who first saw when I posted the title was "Scola or Hill"? I never put the word trade because I was not trying to see who the fans would rather trade but who is a better player.
Hello Rey, I know that is it you. As a stated at no point even in "certain situations" would I rather have Hill on the floor over Scola. I did not frame the argument incorrectly. I wanted to know who Rockets fans thought was the BETTER player, the original title thread which hopefully what people are voting on.
