I realize in no circumstance it would come down to one of these two players being traded. However, on texanstalk this guy named Rey(maybe he is on here as well?) and I have been debating on who is a better player. He says he rather trade Scola and that Hill has been a better player this year and will be in the future. This has nothing to do with trade value but who is the better player. I am dumbfounded on how you could think Hill was better than Scola, so vote away!
Exactly what I think yet 3 out of 15 people have voted for Hill and apparently the person who I am discussing with thinks Hill is better as well. He argues that with more minutes Hill is a better player, this year somehow Scola is just thrown under the bus and not valued anymore.
I am a Hill supporter. He doesn't deserve the hate he gets here, but I don't think he will ever be as good as Scola. He is a decent backup center. He is no Mutombo, but Mutombo was a pretty good starting center for most of his career. As for whom I would trade, I might very well trade both (after Motiejunas comes over and proves himself), depending on our needs at the moment, but I would probably trade Scola first. He would fetch more, plus he is older, and plays a position at which we are less needy.
Hill is a PF not a center and he has been playing out of position. I don't think Hill should be the starter, but I think he should see more minutes at the 4 with Dalembert in the line-up. Hill has been shooting a pretty good percentage. He's a better rebounder than Scola. He can probably defend the paint a little better with his length and athleticism. He shouldn't start, but I'd like to see him get some actual minutes at the 4.
Scola has the skills to be the better player but I've seen Hill as a better option on the floor this season. Hill was huge against OKC because he played defense and rebounded. Two things Luis seems to suck hard at.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! i can't even believe that we are having this debate. Are you freaking serious? I can't hit the 1-star rating fast enough on this thread.
Scola obviously is better, but when it comes to trading scola has a 3 year 8.5 mill contract and jordan has a 3 mill expiring. So i could see why some prefer to trade scola.
Who would want a dip***** like Hill on there roster? He belongs in the NBA but not on the hardwood. Scola has fallen off badly though... He is still a proven player with actual value.
Where's the option for "trade Both"? WIth Hill not being extended and becoming an RFA , makes sense to move him and get some form of compensation rather than let him walk for nothing. Im almost positive that Morey could squeeze some value from a team fighting for a playoff spot in need of a big. Scola - I'd move him too , as much as I like the way he plays , I believe his contract going forward will be somewhat of an anchor. Possible you could get some value for him from a contending team in need of a scoring punch in the paint off the bench.
