actually, im damon and i dont want anymore talk of yall taking my smoking partner. the only other guy i can hang out with is pippen, and hes a chump. the only way portland would trade wallace is if stoudamire gets thrown in the deal too.
if k.t. is such a ball hog and neglectful passer, than how did he get 5 assists vs. new orleans (francis had only 4) and 6 against the sixers? im thinking that k.t. should be running the point! k.t. is the best p.f. we got. even when he is shooting worth a damn, mo plays no d and is a pathetic rebounder by western confrence p.f. standards. we should be trying to dump mo, but who in their right mind would take on his contract?
by the way, for what its worth i would like to apologize for my inflamatory remarks the other day. they were in response the the "rasheed as a chimp" comments. i felt that some people overreacted and took it way out of context. i did not see it as racist, but i realize that to others it was glazingly apparent. i found my comment so funny in its rediculousness, that i did not expect it to be taken as anything more than such. by throwing something that outrageous into the mix i was trying to make light of the whole politically correctness argument. it was in poor taste though. im sorry for bringing so much negativity into a cool website and i will not let it happen again. ps.-sorry to codeel for calling you a cracker. im sure youve got flava to spare!
i agree. that is a diseased team. cant think of anyone that i would really want on there. however, in the long term the portland trade was actually good for us. i cant remember how it all worked out, but i dont think that we would have been able to get francis if pippen did not force himself out via trade. i see portland as the long-term loosers of that trade. pippen is arguably the most overpaid player in the game. $20 mil. this season? all he has done in the last 4 years is prove how bad ass jordan could make others around him look. we got the best back-up center in the league. kelvin cant help that he is grossly overpaid.
Give griff time and he will be similar to wallace offensively. Defensively I would give griff the edge as is
I think the current Rockets' roster is pretty much settled and it's time to concentrate on developing the chemistry instead of breaking it abruptly - i.e. bringing in someone like Rasheed. However, I definitely agree to minor changes that help as long as Steve, Mobley and Yao all stay.
Wallace is a good player statistically, but he does not have the leadership to help us get back to where we were. I say we just get better on our own and maybe wait for sumthin better to present itself if we are that intent on trading. by the way Yao Ming is a freaking beast!
ok killer, you got me. Kenny finally had a good game. My point with Mr. Thomas is that he could be a much better player if he put aside his need for cash and looked at the team concept. Because of his ability to slash and score, he is able to create space for Ming. Unfortunately, he usually doesn't recognize this aspect of his game and plays to selfishly. Maybe he has turned the corner. Let's wait and see.
I do agree the Rockets need a powerforward to handle the dirty work, but I don't think R. Wallace is the answer. Remember Eddie Griffin is only 20 yrs old, and he will be that player to play along side Yao (and Steve) in the near distance future. The team will gel make a championship push in two years.
It would be tight, bringing in Sheed to Houston. Its been a while since we had a "bad boy" in houston, it would stir things up a little in H-Town. Sheed+Franchise+Dynasy might bring in more crowd to the compaq center. It would do rockets good by giving up Mobley, that boy shoots too much. To make the deal a little better: Sheed and Anderson for Mobley and Griffin or Thomas.
screw any dealings with portland i propose a new trade... the principals involved would be (dont laugh) maurice taylor for shandon anderson. i dont know how salaries match up, but maybe some other players could get thrown in to make it work. we have 3 power forwards and taylor is the most overpaid and least productive. trading him still leaves us with a solid combo of k.t. and eddie. we are lacking at the shooting guard spot and could use anderson as a reserve to cat. he is overpaid too, but a good defender in a postition where we need it. it works for the knicks too cause they dont need anderson anyway, but they could really use mo t's scoring. he would do really well in the east.
jo, have you been dipping into damon's stash? Do you remember when shandon was here? Remember he didn't like playing with us and he sucked. And now that we have Hawkins, a similar player at a much lower payrate, why would we want Anderson screwing up chemistry. Let's sick back relax and let the season ride. Then we will see if anyone needs to come or go.
