no... not for me. just a little service work. about four and a half years in and know someone who is in dire need of one. had a connection, but keeps getting pushed back for admittance. figured my cf brethren my know of a place.

i was lucky to only have a hundred buck copay at the time for a nationally known facility that costs tens of thousands of dollars, but this guy is uninsured. anybody?

Sorry can't help you with solutions.
    How about...locking his bedroom door?
    Or...prison?

It's not free...but for a buck, the spicy chicken sandwich at McDonalds will definitely clear your system out. (I think Swoly's on board with this statement)

lol...sorry for that post. It just dawned on me that I was on the wrong "detox" page.

When I was in high school and entering college, I worked for the probation department in Huntsville (Walker County) and we were next to a trailer that housed a free program that was partially funded through the county and other grants that offered free help in getting cleaned up. I'm not sure if it was a local program or a national/state type thing...but it might be worth your while to check with Harris County (or whatever county your friend resides in) to see if they offer something similar. I know the probationers who had drug issues had to submit for weekly drug screenings and also attend meetings at that facility. It was, however, not really a medical facility that allowed people to "check in". Good luck with your friend and sorry for the mix up.

Relinquishing junk. Stage one, preparation. For this you will need one room which you will not leave. Soothing music. Tomato soup, ten tins of. Mushroom soup, eight tins of, for consumption cold. Ice cream, vanilla, one large tub of. Magnesia, milk of, one bottle. Paracetamol, mouthwash, vitamins. Mineral water, Lucozade, p*rnography. One mattress. One bucket for urine, one for feces and one for vomitus. One television and one bottle of Valium, which I've already procured from my mother, who is, in her own domestic and socially acceptable way also a drug addict. And now I'm ready. All I need is one final hit to soothe the pain while the Valium takes effect.

Detox for what? Drugs? Booze? Both? I don't know who might do it for free and/or cheap, but Googling a local AA/NA place might offer some info or at least provide a good place to start.

I will lock him in my van for a week if you can get him in a straight jacket or something so he doesn't attack me when I am hosing out the van.
