If you sort by 3P%... 1) Russell Westbrook 2) Kyle Lowry 3) Ricky Rubio 4) Jason Terry 5) Kevin Love 6) Chris Bosh 7) Paul Millsap 8) Pau Gasol 9) Tony Parker 10) Jose Calderon So Lowry really is one of the most clutch 3P shooters. And surprisingly (to me at least), so are Westbrook and Rubio.
OKC is the clutchest team in the league, not surprised. Westbrook is the clutchest player I have seen so far this year, and you have Durant as well.
But who created those shots? If a superstar drives past his man and gets double teamed and passes to someone who's wide open, he's the one who created the shot, not the beneficiary.
FG%? Come on now. Go with a legitimate stat to measure shooting: effective FG%. Spoiler 1 Jason Terry 0.625 2 Chris Bosh 0.621 3 Al Harrington 0.614 4 Jose Calderon 0.6 5 Tim Duncan 0.565 6 Joe Johnson 0.557 7 Russell Westbrook 0.556 8 Jarrett Jack 0.55 9 Kevin Love 0.55 10 Ricky Rubio 0.55 11 Paul Millsap 0.529 12 Tony Parker 0.527 13 Danny Granger 0.521 14 Monta Ellis 0.486 15 Josh Smith 0.479 16 Pau Gasol 0.477 17 Kevin Durant 0.471 18 Chris Paul 0.439 19 Kyle Lowry 0.423 20 Carmelo Anthony 0.415 21 Rudy Gay 0.4 22 Dirk Nowitzki 0.365 23 David West 0.364 24 LaMarcus Aldridge 0.359 25 Jameer Nelson 0.346 26 Dwyane Wade 0.333 27 Tyreke Evans 0.333 28 Brandon Jennings 0.333 29 Nick Young 0.333 30 LeBron James 0.318 31 Kevin Garnett 0.3 32 Kobe Bryant 0.295 33 Jamal Crawford 0.29 34 Ty Lawson 0.286 35 O.J. Mayo 0.262 36 John Wall 0.25 That said, I was messing around with some clutch stats earlier myself and was astounded at how bad Bryant's been (as well as how many shot he continues to take while being so bad).
I like how Duncan is number 2 and Parker number 5 --> but apparently they don't qualify as superstars?
not that i wouldn't have noticed it eventually, but thanks for pointing out this play index+ thing t_mac1. looks like you can only search for one season and not combine them right now but the shot finder has a ridiculous number of options. you can sort down to the second of the game that you want to look before or after. another very nice thing from B-R.com. kobe continuing to shoot while bricking is certainly not surprising. but yeah, 28% certainly isn't good. another crazy thing was looking at last year's stats. westbrook had by far the most "clutch" FGA at 149 and yet number 2 was durant with 130. 2 guys on the same team who each took more than rose and kobe. wade and lebron combined only took 140.
