You could front Yao and make him irrelevant.

I will have to go with Jeremy Lin.

Uh Lin is definitely not playing this well off his sheer athleticism.
Its a combination of basketball fundamentals and great basketball IQ.

Yao had height from the start. He developed his skills afterward, he was extremely raw when he entered the NBA game.

Lin has the potential to surpass Yao... its not going to happen soon but he has a chance.

Really? So 6 good games negates Yao's entire career? Yao had to overcome so much more. Shaking My Head....

I take Lin over George Washington, I mean Washington was one of the most courageous leaders of all time. In his war days he was nicked by 4 bullets and had 2 horses shot out from under him, leading our army to victory over the damn redcoats.

But Lin has an extremely high BBall IQ and is a beast in the paint. With he developing outside jumper he is going to be a force to reckon with!

Lin gets hundreds of thousands of Washingtons and should get millions after next season.

I guess skill doesn't matter much then because Yao was clearly better and I can't think of a GM in the league that would take Lin over Yao if injuries weren't a factor.

Yao would have been MVP a three or four years ago if he didn't get injured. I don't see Lin winning MVP awards. My vote has to go to Yao. Yao usually got the better of whatever opponent was guarding him. Ask Dwight what he thinks of Yao.

What kind of thread is this? Jeremy Lin has played well for a less than two weeks. Yao was a perennial All-Star and All-NBA selection for years. I'm a fan of both, but Jeremy has a long way to go before anyone can say that he's supplanted any of the more established stars.

Everybody experiences ups and downs. Would people still be making threads like this if Jeremy shoots under 50% for the next week, while continuing to turn over the ball a lot? Jeremy's a good player, but he needs to sustain his scoring performances while cutting down on the risky passes and turnovers. His turnover numbers are unacceptably high right now.

This is getting out of hand.

Lin has 5-6 great games. Yao had a great CAREER.

    Calm down Lin fans.

As much as I enjoyed watching Lin these days, it is too early to tell.

Yao was NBA all-star for like 10 times, while Lin has played like 10 good games.
