in the first half, Yao is in foul trouble, Francis is cold and playing badly.... KT, well, that guy sometimes just play like an all-star and sometimes just dissappear totally (but he played well tonight)..... this is when Cat is important..... he picks up the scoring slack of Houston and score 16pts (his total, all in the first half if I am not wrong).... In the 2nd half, Francis & KT got it going, and with Yao contributing well also (especially in the 4th where he just kill the 76ers) we have no problem scoring at all!!! man, with Cat, Yao, and Francis on the court, we have 3 scoring option there and it will makes the opponents think twice whether they want to double team any of them...... with KT, Rice, EG, MoT, Cato catching fire once in a while, this team is going to be really good.... and like Jeff said in the other thread, our defense is one of the best in the league now..... just waiting for our offense to click, and we will be one of the elite team for sure!!! GO ROCKETS!!!!
If Cat plays within the offense he is deadly. Make no mistake about it. Scorers are a premium in the NBA. When you have teams barely getting 80 a night, you need guys who can put the ball in the hole. However, scorers who force shots are also what's wrong with the game today. As Mobley and Francis begin trusting teammates other than themsleves, they'll come to realize that : 1.) Other players can score 2.) when teammates are involved, it'll create easier opportunities for themselves. 3.) Taking 10 shots and winning feels a lot better than taking 15 and losing.
I like how both Mobley and Francis were getting out on the break and getting some early offense buckets. I think they are learning to play with Yao.... DaDakota
I was at the 76ers game tonight and was pleased with the fact that Mobley was worked back into the game without taking away all of Yao Ming's touches. As far as how Steve and Cat should NOT play, they should just watch a tape of Iverson's play this game! He was totally out of control, driving into 2 and 3 defenders, jacking up shots or passing in a crowd. I was unhappy when he was off the floor, because his wild play was wasting alot of Philly posessions.
I said the same thing in another thread. It is true. The team missed Cuttino more than I think everybody realized. He could've been the difference against the Hornets, but thats over and I'm glad he's back.
I just heard Larry Brown said to the media in NBA TV..... THEY PLAYED LIKE A TEAM!!! If Houston continues to play like this, WATCH OUT NBA!!!!!
We need Cat. Thats all there is to it. If he plays within the offense, we will be deadly come playoff time.
Whilst, I agree with your sentiment, "junior" is a bit unnecessary. You've only got 30-odd posts yourself. I've only got 300 or so, there are people with thousands. It doesn't make anyone opinion any more or less valid.
Cuttino is the heart of this team no doubt. No one said that he is the star of the team. Cuttino brings the passion EVERY game. Cuttino has been here since 98-99 season. He keeps Steve in check and I have seen him get on Moochie's case in the past. This team is changing before our eyes, isn't beautiful.
Big Three sounds good to me.... u need 2 to win a championship (ala Shaq & Kobe), with 3, it just makes everything so much sweeter Rocks Big Three are the one who always brings all their energy on to the court!!!! with others roles player stepping up, HERE COMES ROCKS!!!! JLB, did u forgot about the 'it'? Isn't IT beautiful..... u meant to say that right?
I'm glad to see this. From some of the stuff I've read here recently, I thought I was the only one that thought Cat was a real asset to this team.
and then u have 3 good PF's. a decent backup C, and a crazy but sometimes effective point gaurd, and a HAWK defender
I would describe our PF's as average. Theyre ok. They have good games but are too inconsistent as a group. That's why we have about 6 million different combinations/rotations. We still need a solid, complementary PF who can bang and get rebs. Id trade quantity for quality. My hope is that Griffin will work hard, bulk up, and practice his shooting and low post moves.
