    Moe,

don't you think that getting over the 'lottery' stigma will attract other, perhaps better free agents?

Achebe, that is a valid point, but I don't think there are too many "better" free agents that we could sign. If that is true, then our best shot for upgrading personnel is through the draft. By the way, I was just at the NBATalk site, and they say that Wally Walker is hitting the radio to declare the King Kong trade dead and do damage control for the fans. They go on to say they expect MoFo to sign with the Rockets tomorrow for One Year. We've all heard this before, but if the big deal is dead, I think it is probably true. If this pans out, my position now has to be that I hope we can keep him more than one year.

This deal serves no long term purpose in my opinion. The Rockets aren't winning any championships with Mo Taylor as a power forward, especially in a conference with Garnett, Wallace, Webber, Googs, Malone, and Duncan so what the heck's the point? Are we content to potentially sneak into the 8th seed in the playoffs only to get pounded in the first round? Are we simply striving to be a bad playoff team or are we trying to build a title contender? - TIMING

WE arent gonna win a championship BECUZ mo taylor is the power forward. We are gonna win because of someone called the Franchise. I think Taylor is absolutely THE BEST we can do... of course there is Webber, but we have no idea if he's coming next year.

And out of Garnett, Wallace, Webber, Googs, Malone, which one of them has a point guard that compares to what Francis will be? Only Phoenix. You dont have to have studs at every position... simply one stud like Francis backed up by a VERY POWERFUL lineup including Mo Taylor is enough.

Hope Mo re-signs with us next year.

Excuse me but what "very powerful lineup" are you talking about? Is that the same one with Kelvin Cato, Walt Williams, and a less than in his prime Olajuwon? You could put a 26 year old Magic Johnson as the point guard on this team right now and you're still not going anywhere in the playoffs. We don't need studs at every position but we sure as hell need more than ONE stud if you want to call a second year point guard a stud.
