If the season ended today the Rockets would be 4th seed, home court vs The Lakers.

There was a question on another thread that asked the question: who would or could we beat in the playoffs?

Above is a multiple choice poll which simply asks, who do you think our mighty Rockets would beat in the Playoffs with our current roster.

The comments section is your chance to explain why.

This will give us an insight into the minds of the Rocket fans here on The ClutchFans GARM.

Note: Suns, Warriors, Hornets, Kings not included due to 10 poll limit...plus none look like making the playoffs & IMO we would beat them all.

If you believe that, then put on a purple jersey and move to Utah.

My answers seem to line up with popular opinion except I think the Lakers can't handle our depth and we can't handle Minny's athleticism.

The only two teams the rockets don't stand a chance against is obviously the Thunder, and then the Spurs w/ Ginobili. If Ginobili didn't come back, I'd say we have a 50/50 chance against them.

The only playoff teams I think we're favorites to beat are Portland and Utah. All the other teams either overwhelm us with their talent or match up well against us.

Seems like we have some over-confident fans here ;)

    Little-to-no chance: OKC, LAC
    Small chance: LAL, DAL
    50/50: MIN, MEM, SAS, DEN
    Favorites: UTA, POR?

    - We just can't match the firepower of the Thunder/Clippers.
    - The Lakers and Mavs are simply more experienced, and we don't matchup particularly well with either, but I think we could hang around.
    - The Spurs and Nuggets are probably better than us, but we matchup well with them (DEN will get Chandler back, which will help them). Meanwhile, we're probably better than Minny, but we don't matchup well with them. Memphis is up and down - our chances depend on which team shows up.
    - Portland is a quality team, but we've somehow beat them both times...We're yet to see how we play against Utah, but I'd be confident.

Squash match: Thunder, Clippers, and Lakers
Underdog with a fair chance: Spurs (at full strength), Grizzlies (with Randolph), Mavs, Nuggets, and T-Wolves.
    Favorites: Jazz, Blazers (maybe)

It's too early talking about the playoffs don't you think.

I can see us beating Denver as they are also without a go-to guy and similar in some ways and the Wolves because they are young and do not give us match-up problems.

People who think we can beat the Jazz or Blazers need to get a reality check, because the Jazz have our number with their dominating front court and Aldridge cannot be contained by Dally / Scola for more than 2 games.

Basically agree with this. Don't think we would be the underdog against the TWolves despite losing 2 of 3
