Some guys are just bench guys.

See Terry and Manu (who is a HOF player off the bench) Keep Bud there. Nothing wrong with being the spark off the bench at all.

The bench is finishing games anyway, why does he have to be in the 1st unit.

It's Martin and Dally who need to wake up.

I agree. I think Bud is ready to reclaim his spot.

Chase Budinger is where he needs to be right now. We are good... once a trade happens our starting group will be better.

I agree with what everyone is saying. Whatever we are doing right now is working. Bud is working really well off the bench. Parsons plays better defense than Bud which is good at the start of a game to set the tone and not let a team think they can get a runaway lead on us.

Chase can win the 6th man award, the chemistry on the 2nd unit is tight and should not be tinkle with. I don't remember bench players having this much impact ever for the Rockets. It would be stupid to mess with it because 1st and 2nd unit are getting the same amount of minutes. Whoever succeed will get more minutes, good job coaching and good team players.

Half the board does not know how to watch basketball. Defense is 50% of the game. Although CBud is getting better on D, Parsons is superior. The starting lineup needs defensive punch to offset Martin and Scola.

Also there is only one basketball on offense. When you have Scola and Martin taking most of the shots, they need complimentary players.

CBud's best asset is his offense. On this team, he is better suited to giving us a spark off the bench.

The bottom line in basketball is wins. Half the board likes eye candy on offense. Having said that we're not that bad on offense and Parsons does some nice things there too...

Agree with Yodels... Bud is doing very well off the bench. I actually really like the lineups that McHale can go with late in games where he actually puts Bud at the SG position. I think that position might ultimately be where he plays the best eventually. It doesn't matter who starts. It just matters who finishes.

    Whats wrong with the starters?-

Here's one reason why. I still like Parson's as the starter, but they are going to need to make changes to their offense to keep Chandler and Scola on the same side of the ball as much as possible. Too many times, teams are loading up on Martin, Scola and leave Parsons/Dally to create offense. Its not pretty nor affective.

Parsons needs to be the one facilitating the post offense with Scola. He's a great passer for a SF, and shouldnt be stuck playing a 2 man game with Dalembert.

Whether he starts or not is irrelevent, I like seeing both Parsons and Bud in there playing together, the ball really moves around crisply as they are both good passers.

I would not mind seeing Lee get a shot with the starters, but if you moved Kmart to the 2nd unit it would screw up CBud and the chemistry, CBud is clearly the main scorer on that unit (though barely).....and him getting shots is crucial to his energy level.

I agree with those that say "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".....CBud can be our closer......our Sam Cassel, no need to change anything.

BTW- he is leading our team in 3pt shooting out of the regulars and is just behind Courtney Lee in overall FG% from the perimeter.

Bud has more wow factor and a dynamic game. He is a border line starter. "the team" that is coming off the bench is the best team the Rockets have. They play the best together. If Parsons will start to shoot a few more shots a game I think that would help.

And then throw him out of it again after a few bad games?

    Consistency, anyone?

This is the Chase we been hoping to see since he first got here, as long as he stays aggressive no reason this can't stick.

He's always been a better player than he's given credit for. His adjusted plus minus last year was second only to Lowry. Now with his improved play this year his number is an astounding + 17, by far the best on the team. Lowry is second at +8.

His combined 2 year number is +8, just behind lowrys +9, and well ahead of the next best Scola at +2. Chase does a lot of the Battier type things that never get credit but help winning immensely. He's not a good on the ball defender, but his help and rotations are great, thats why his plus minus numbers are so good.

He is a really good player, he's a great player if this new attitude sticks. Not a star, but a legit scoring threat and heavy rotation player on a championship level team.

he has to earn it by averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds for 10 games while playing exceptional D.

Don't change his current situation. Bud has been good coming off the bench plus he is finishing the games anyways.
