North Korea still have the tallest guy in any basketball league and he stands 7'10".

Being a Korean (South), I followed his "story" a little. About 3-4 years ago, he was wanting to play in the NBA, but wasn't able to because US wouldn't take him in, as a bargaining tool against North Korea. I'm not sure if North Korea would have let him leave the country anyhow though.

I remember the Chronicle doing an article on him, right before the draft, obviously because it kind of fit with the Yao theme...

I remember that several scouts said in the article that he would have been able to be a backup center in the NBA. Now, he's like 34 or so.

I remember a few years ago when the Grizz were in Vancouver...The guy made the back page (which is the start of the sports section, working inward) and they had some people saying that the Grizzlies and Mavs (i think) were interested in him. Then later they had an article saying how he wasn't going to be able to come to the NBA.

I bet he could block 13 shot a game though.

That guy is friggin' tall! He's also rail thin, but has tree trunks for legs. I bet Yao would destroy this guy, nonetheless. Seriously though, all he would have to do is drop the ball in the net under the goal.

This guy is absolutely too old to play in NBA, I was told he was 36 or so last year.

why do people say 'I'm SOUTH Korean'

...Koreans are Koreans...it's just a matter of a physical man-made divide...

Is it me or does it seem that all asians all of a sudden seem to be 7' 10" now. Man what are these guys bein fed over there, Miracle Grow? I wish i was asian so I could be 8' 11" or something like that. Then I could make Shaq look like a little
voodoo doll and kick his butt all over the court

Every division is man made, because government is man made. Being south korean shows what side of a huge political issue he is on.

I can't imagine how good Yao would be if he was 7-10. He would score like 50 a game. :)
