Ricardo Gathers(no.35 ESPN, no.37 Rivals) committed today, Moves Baylor up to No. 4 recruiting class. Sic Em
Mr. Downy Soft (Perry Jones III) has a triple doubled: 3 pts, 3 fouls. The guy has skills and athleticism but he doesn't have it between the ears or in the heart. He won't be an NBA bust because the expectations shouldn't be so high anymore.
Sick of him not diving for loose balls. Scott Drew is a terrible coach. Just a thought, but you might want to make an adjustment so the KU center doesn't quintiple his previous career high.
Perry Jones going 1-8 in this type of game is unacceptable. Being 20-3 at this point isn't the end of the world but we will be better next season. Much better if Quincy Miller returns. Baylor is building a title contender but we're not quite there yet. After the Missouri game, we have a shot to go 6-0 to end conference play. @Texas is the only worrisome game left on the schedule.
That 7-pt play just killed them. What I don't understand is that Holly Rowe said the ref told Scott Drew that he had been warning Miller the entire game about his rough play. If he had been warning the player, in college basketball, he should've been warning the coach. My Dad summed them up best last night - Silk Sock Sissies.
"...but we will be better next season." Doubt it. This is the best team you have ever had, and it's the best team you ever WILL have. Shame they are being coached by such a loser. I'll check back from time to time! -Hank
I think we're soft as hell. I'm extremely critical of Drew as a coach. But still good enough to win at College Station.
I disagree. Baylor was a missed call or two from being in the final four with Drew as their coach. Udoh provided protection at the rim. Austin will do the same next season. Gathers has a NBA-ready body and Rose will add depth to the guard positions. Drew is a great recruiter. The cream always rises to the top.
Perry Jones MIA in big games. What's the chance of him coming back? Baylor needs to regroup. Still have 6 conference games to get back on track. All winnable.
Drew has to be more flexible with his defense. Just has to. That zone was a recipe for disaster against Mizzou, which basically runs a four guard offense all the time. We shot well from three, but most of the looks were open and in rhythm. When BU switched it up and pressured a bit, we did get a little flustered, but it was too late. Hope BU learns from it and adjusts - the last six games for y'all are all winnable, as sammy said. Nice chance to build confidence again. On the other hand, the schedule makers didn't do Baylor any favor by putting Kansas and Mizzou in the same week twice. That's rough.
Don't know what happened. Here is what should have posted: Not the end of the world. Baylor is clearly the 3rd best team in the conference and the two big dogs beat them twice. Otherwise, they took care of business. Perry Jones III may as well leave. He is what he is and coming back another year won't change anything. I think Baylor would be better off without him. The big question is what Quincy Miller does.
I knew you'd disagree. Tweety Carter was the glue for that team. He was like a player/coach. Without that kind of kid...that kind of leadership..Drew's teams seem poorly coached with awful court discipline.
