I haven't watched Bryant play a lot this season, but it seems like he is really healthy. Last year he announced that he had a 'bone on bone' condition in his knee -- then he went to Europe and got some weird treatment and said, 'it's cured'. Does anyone remember the treatment he received? For those who have watched him play a lot this year does he look healthier than year?
http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=6727315 He's moving fine, but his hand is pretty messed up. It's caused him to change his shot. I think he needs to sit for a while to give himself a shot in the playoffs, if his team can make it. But since it's Kobe it wont happen unless his hand falls off.
He needs to play well in order to continue getting endorsed and popularized because Vanessa is taking half of what he's earning.
He's been amazing so far. Don't know if he can keep it up the entire season and playoffs. Before he's finished, I think Kobe will be the consensus choice as greatest Laker ever even without winning a 6th championship. Just my opinion. And I'm old enough to remember Magic Johnson's entire Laker career (for that matter, I remember his Michigan State career).
Most of the players who came straight out of high school appear to start a rapid decline once they hit 30 -- TMac, KG, etc. It is amazing that Kobe can still play at this level with the amount of mileage he has.
I didn't realize he only had the plasma therapy -- I was thinking he had something else as well. I don't understand how just plasma therapy would regenerate cushioning in his knee.
I'm curious what he did as well. The treatment Kobe had was called Orthokine. I'm actually going to see pretty highly recommended foot and ankle doc next week that performs the platelet rich plasma therapy. I'll let yall know if I find out anything interesting. Another note....this is not what Kobe did, but there are other procedures called joint distraction that allow for fiberous cartilage regeneration.
