HE DIDNT REALLY ANSWER MY QUESTION SERIOUSLY
    but here it goes

Lil Bow Yao (L.A-Atl-Brooklyn-Manhattan): Chad, I know you must be tired of Yao Ming questions, Laker Questions, and Jordan Questions, so I decided to combine all 3 topics into 1 question. With the recent emergence of Yao Ming, do you see him possibly being voted into the West All Star game over Shaq (due to shaqs injury). Or do you think there will be a good shot for Yao to be picked by the coaches? I mean lets face it...his main competition in the West at Center is the Aging Admiral, the Hurt Olowokandi, and the emerging Erick Dampier. Unless Duncan, KG, and Dirk go in as the centers, I dont see why Yao shouldn't make it if hes a rookie.

Chad Ford: (12:34 PM ET ) Love the name. Love it. Here's an even more convincing arguement for Yao. From what I understand, the NBA has opened up the voting to China this year. Look for Yao to receive about a billion votes. Shaq doesn't have a chance.

That should be enough evidence for all of those people who think that there is no way Yao can beat out Shaq in votes. A billion votes? No way. Two million? Yes.

Yao Ming, starting center for the Western Conference All-Stars.

Ming's home town Shanghai, was 20 million residence and 1 million net surfers, will be almost enough to get two million votes :)

Can someone post the link to the on-line All Star voting site?

I want to do my part to put Mr. Ming and Mr. Francis in something other than the pin-striped pajamas.

nice thought but they still wear the pajama's during the all-star game, no more east/west jerseys. shouldn't keep us from voting anyways.

If Yao Ming does get voted to be the all-star starter, I expect the other players in the western squad (other than Francis, if he's in) to freeze him out in the game.

They did it with Kobe. They did it to Shaq (if I remember right). I think the veteran all-stars normally don't like a young unproven guy to be there sharing the spot light.

So, I actually don't think it's a good idea to vote a rookie into the all-star game. He will be a lot better respected in the rookies game.

But the difference is that david stern won't freeze him. I believe he will do anything helpful if he can. Just a remind, all star is Feb 7-9, and Chinese New Year is Feb 1 and usually most Chinese have 10 days vacation during New Year,i.e. Jan 31- Feb 10. Also , don't forget that Chinese New Year is also celebrated by Janpanese, Korean and some other eastern asian countries.
In one word, with Yao Ming being all star, it won't be amazing that this year's all star will break the TV's broadcasting world record , which will easily have over 1 billion audience.
David stern must have known this ........
