This was different. None of the players saw it when it happened, and even on the replay its not totally clear-cut that it was an intentional stomp by Love. Love doesn't exactly have a reputation for that sort of play.

I think the Rockets were too zoned in on trying to actually cut the lead and get back in the game. If they were playing with a lead or it was a close game in the first half, maybe someone would have done something. Though, Dalembert did have a somewhat hard foul on Love after that play, as I recall. He might have put a little extra on it.

Breaking news, league suspends Scola 1 game for flagrantly assaulting Love's foot with his face. Commissioner Stern could not be reached for comment, as he was away putting a horse's head in Daryl Morey's bed, or as he calls it: negotiating a Chris Kaman trade for the NY pick, Patrick Patterson, the rights to Donatas Motiejunas and that picture of Morey in Madison Square Garden.

More on this story as this develops...

The Rockets did pickup a couple of technicals (I know, one was by the coach) shortly after and, if you're going to get t'ed up, you might as well send a message back that that type of play is going to be met with some sort of response in kind. If other players didn't see it, Scola should have gotten in Love's face and shoved him since the other technical was called on Luis. I'd much rather have him get t'ed up for confronting a player about a dirty play than getting it for arguing with the refs about that same play.

Well when the Pups next visits Houston, Scola can fling Love to the ground and step on his face unintentionally.

My Rockets are not a stepping stone.

I'm thinking it was Rick Adelman, possibly with Brad Miller input, who suggested that Kevin Love apologize. Even if he's a player's coach, can't see Rick ignoring this after coaching Scola for the past 3 years.

I would hope that Adelman would say something to Love...

Good idea. Have him shoot a brick to Love's head. Lord knows he's got enough per game to knock their whole damn team unconscious.

What really kills me is that the refs did nothing to Love afterwards! If Worrell was right about the ref seeing on the screen during a TO then they should've thrown him out then... And I know refs "don't effect the outcome" but without Love in the 4th that would've been a different outcome.

yeah, i dont think any of the players on the court saw it, the bench seemed like they did though, but if they do anything it's probably an automatic suspension....that being said, are these even the kind of guys who would get going if they saw scola do something? I doubt it.

Do we know why they got the techs after it? I gotta agree it was kind of lame that they got t'ed up and didn't even retaliate...wasted technical foul

Overall, i dont like the the way this series is going. The twolves went from being unsure they could keep up to knowing they can beat Houston and push them around.

The simple fact of the matter is that the Wolves are physically tougher than us inside. Love and Pekovic is a bruising front-line.

    Wow....never had anything against Love.

But he lost his cool there. And the refs....that was pathetic. First he purposely fouled Louis with a swat across the arms....no call....then he stops on his face....and the refs miss it.

    Wow.

This is why the NBA blows. Refs are terrible.

Kevin Love let his emotions get the best of him. Dirty play. Scola is handling it well what a classy guy.

Love's statement afterwards clearly shows that it was intentional, retaliatory, and that his apology afterwards was fake.

    Suspend this guy.
