i love rudy he was with us for those 2 championship banners hanging in the raftors in compact center. but if we dont make the playoffs this year maybe we need a new coach? why? i know that alot of people here like rudy or at least some... but we shouldnt be so attached to him ..of course those that are...we might need a new coach next year. rudy is way to nice to the players. he needs to let francis know when his game is off. he needs to let mobley know when he is taking STUPID shots. and stuff like that. we have a playoff team right now. we have 10 wins. if we dont make it this year i think rudy should step down

Baring a catastrophe, Rudy will be here for many years (unless he gets burned
    out and takes a break).

As long as Rudy has the players and a good coaching staff, he'll be fine.

I thank God that he ditched the dependence on the ISO, for the most part.

Rockets are making the playoffs, Rudy's not going anywhere, and Drayton should spend some money on the 'Stros.

I would rather lose with Rudy than win with Portland's roster. Or the Bulls. Or Duck Chaney.

Or -- count me as one who wants to win with Rudy.

Rudy stays as long as Rudy wants to stay. And if he doesn't want to stay too much longer, well that's ok. But, who is the 1st assistant coach, the 'heir apparent' if a new coach stays within the Rox' 'family'?

Not sure why everyone hates on Rudy T. Have you not heard how players talk about him...how he's a player's coach? Also if he was such a bad coach how did he the chance to coach the National team and even with a bunch of college players was able to win the bronze. Stop hating....by the way, if Rudy was replaced...who would you replace him with? Jeff Van Gundy??????????????????

Another dump post with "why should we fire Rudy T." IMHO, Rudy T done a excellent job bringing Yao along and installing a new offense. Enought of this "arm chair analysis" BS.

I dont agree with the kid, but it's not fair to call him a MORON just for having an opinion on the subject (even tho it's been discussed to death already)

    As for the original post.

How do you know that he *doesn't* let the players know when things aren't working well? or if he gets on players for stupid moves/plays? Do you have access behind the scenes and at practices? If you don't then you really cant get down on RT for doin something that could very well be imagined.

My opinion is that RT should be given at least 2 more years to do something with this lineup. He's been given the tools, now lets give him time to do the job.
