His initial reaction and follow up reaction after figuring out the mistake is pretty good.

I was involved in a game in high school as a freshman where the other team had not scored in the 4th. One of our garbage time guys felt so bad for them, he decided to score for them. He was immediately removed not because the coach was angry he ruined the shutout, but because he high-fived players from the other team and celebrated their only points. We ended up winning the game 47-2.

Kids these days don't know the value of a shutout.

hey, it's not the kid's fault that he scored the winning basket for the other team. The game shouldn't have even come down to that.

    (i hate that logic )

i just realized he screwed up twice....that guy needs a compass. He ran the wrong way on the inbounds that almost got stolen AND again went the wrong way to score the basket...

That's kind of how I scored my first points in high school. I got fouled and bricked both free throws but somebody from the other team rebounded the ball and put it back in so I got credit for the points.

lol damn you're right. He was going for a 'fast break' in the wrong direction when the other team nearly stole it and it went out of bounds. And then he 'caught them off guard' a second time and scored. Whoo!

    why didn't scoreboard change?

this happens at least once a year in the middle school girls tournament we play in.
this year a girl got a defensive rebound and just laid it right up an in and later in the game we were down by 4 instead of 2. it was the game changer and most exciting moment for the other team.

and we have to laugh and smile it off as a "teaching moment"

He needs lessons from paulstfk..... Paul would have not only made the basket for the other team but he would have came back to hit a buzzer beater to win it all just to make things more interesting.... Feel me, brah?

Get benched by coach, but make a ton of new friends and receive respect + props. sounds like a good deal.

He also would have talked trash and snapped a cell phone pic of the chick on the bleachers in between plays.

He would have taken a picture of the chick only if there were no Houston Texans in view...

Except those were all tipped balls. This kid actually took a shot at his own basket, then celebrated it (until he realized how badly he ****ed up).

my favorite part is on the ensuing possession when he actually runs up wanting the inbounds pass. shockingly, his teammate decides to pass it to someone else.
