They're up 60% the last 6 months. That's pretty good. Of course they had dropped from some big numbers prior.

    Dude, you're comparing $700 a month to $240/day which is $7200 a month.

I would just buy a crapload of canned, boxed goods, gum, etc.

I wouldnt want to freeze stuff. Even frozen stuff doesnt last forever.

I know. I'm saying that I could definitely do this and probably not use up the whole per diem. I wonder if he only uses 200 a day, does he get to pocket the 40 dollars he didn't use?

I think its for food, which means eating out also. $240 isn't as much in those terms. A lot of these that relo don't cook.

I think $240 per day would go really quick at Whole Foods. A wheel of parmigiano reggiano sounds divine. Those things average like $20 per pound.

    must spread rep around.

I could do it, but i would also have such a large inventory of crap that it would be unbearable.

But like other's have mentioned, you don't have to do it everyday.

I would, however, stock up on food items that keep a long time as well as household supplies.

I'd use it at Sam's Club or Costco. Hope he has an extra bedroom for storage though.

I could not and am smart enough to not even try ;)

I could spend $240 a week and eat very well. Also, I would not want to store $17,000 food in pantries/freezers for later consumption. I bet quit of a bit that food would go bad before I got to it.
