This is getting out of control... Please stop with that nonsense. Over competitive my foot... Some of you guys will find a way to complain about any and everything. Now our players are "over competitive"... Darwin almighty...
This reads like a fluff piece. It's almost like JCF is selling Morris to other teams. "This move is downright special." Come on.
It actually was. For a rookie who formerly played the power forward position in college and has the ability to create his own shot. It'd be different if he put it on NBA.COM but this is Rockets.com who do you really think goes on there, besides us?...
nba.com? fluff? nah, couldn't be. actually its decent for a fluff piece from nba.com. (btw, nba.com is the NBA's website.)
Eurolovers calling Marcus Morris a knucklehead( aka they hate black basketball players) THEY want the Rockets to resemble the Toronto Raptors Parsons and Budinger are bums, Marcus Morris can be a star Scola needs to be traded, Lowry is better than Dragic End this nonsense now
Second time you've brought this up. Can I see some facts to back up your statement? How are people wanting the rockets to be like the raptors again? Does this mean you're a Euro hater?
The only thing morris has in common with pierce is they both went to kansas.Anyone comparing him to robinson must have a short memory. Pierce nor robinson gets beat out by chase or parsons. He might be the next almond for all we know.
That's my point. WE DON'T KNOW! Bud is what he is & Parsons has had his moments, but unless Morris has an attitude problem this letting a third of the season pass before playing him is puzzling.
take for what is worth.... love your blind trust... but you gotta take the good with the bad...... otherwise why is he not playing?!
Not really. The plan was to send him down to get acquainted with the small forward position. You can't just throw a rookie player out at the NBA level while he is in the process of transitioning positions. It could easily damage his confidence. This scenario has been played out many times. It's unfortunate that Morris has been hurt for a month now, but McHale did say he would eventually play rotation minutes. Considering he played only a handful of games in the DLeague before suffering an injury, it shouldn't surprise you much that he has missed a third of the season. The month of January is the only full month of basketball so far, and Morris has been injured through January. Shocker...
At some point you have to go out and compete at the NBA level. The guy has been telling anyone who would listen that he's a 3 that was playing a 4 for Kansas. Let him prove it. At some point the guy has to just play basketball. If his confidence gets damaged beyond repair from doing that in the NBA, he doesn't belong in the NBA anyways. IMO.
He went down For a few games to ease his transition. He got hurt. He's been injured for a month. I'm not sure what you want.
Would be easier to just throw him out there if les was ok with losing a few games but he prefers to to win. Therefore, McHale is less likely to experiment with someone who the team believes can excel at a different position. I'm not saying that either way is right or wrong to develop a player. But if he's not going to get minutes at the 3 on the rockets, might as well put him in a position where he can and gain confidence doing it.
Most players move down a position coming from college.Glen robinson played averaged 30 and 10 rebs in college and played a lot of 4,he came to the pros and was a 3 and played well early. Either you can transition or you can't. There have been a lot of guys changing positions and still beat out mrginal guys like parsons and chase. Guys like caron butler, ryan gomes to name a few.In college, more time than not they just put the best guys out there regardless of position. I've watched morris a lot, pretty much all his college games and I don't see a sf. I see a tweener guy. As I've said before, that's not a end all be all in the league.Radmon, walker, jamison were all tweener types and had good careers. They came straight in and for the most part played and worked into it. Morris seems entitled a bit. I don't see his ability to move laterally or be a strictly brute in the post. Maybe he can be just a forward like old school.
