No way will Floyd last towards the end of the 1st round. Someone would surely try to trade up to get him if he fell.
No way the Texans pick Floyd even if he is there he is a pain in the butt and has been arrested several times for DUI and Alshon Jeffery might be the pick if he is there but he ran like a 4.6 and had a terrible year but he has the potential to be a superstar reciver. Jeffery has gained alot of weight and could slip to the second if he keeps that up, Jeffery is just too big of a question mark and don't see the Texans passing on Sanu to pick Jeffery. Sanu will not dissapoint he is the most pro ready WR in the draft next to Blackmon, Sanu reminds me of a taller but a little slower version of Hakeem Nicks. Sanu has great hands, is 6'2, great locker room guy, gets seperation from CBs, and will contribute and start on day one. But he might not be there at 26 . Just seems like the perfect fit. As for Kendall Wright the Texans will pass on him because Coach Kubiak likes his WR taller. He is a very good prospect tho.
Via Walter Football: http://walterfootball.com/draft2012_1.php 26. Houston Texans: Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin The Texans want to draft a receiver in the first round, but they may change their minds if Peter Konz is available. We've reported that the front office believes some team will outbid for Myers in free agency, so Houston will probably have a big need at the center position. In that case, Konz will be too difficult to pass up. It's at least believable. They also have Jeffery dropping to #30 because of speed concerns.
Here's Todd McShay's mock 2.0 in case any of you are interested. Can't see us taking a TE in the first but we'll see. Spoiler
Watched him every week living in South Carolina. He can be a productive WR. However, he is more fitted for as a possession receiver, end zone threat receiver. Not afraid of contact, and wants opportunities to catch the ball. He does drop some balls he should catch, and not always the best at finding holes in zone coverages (though some of that was QB dependent). I just don't see him as a speed guy, or as a true future No.1 WR. More as a No. 2 WR. Character issues is were basically some ego issues and being young. He wanted to have an opportunity to make plays, and the Gamecock QB's were not very consistent in general but definitely at finding him. I don't think he is of the Randy Moss/Terrell Owens headcase issues, but that offensive locker room has had issues with Spurrier giving some players too much leeway on & off the field (a la Stephen Garcia), so it is possible there may be some small things with him too there. I just think 1 round is really too high for any WR out there other than Blackman. Would rather the Texans trade back to early 2nd round and take best WR that is still there.
We could get a future star at TE at our slot. You can't say the same thing about WR. The Pats have 2 great tight ends. Drafting a 6'6" threat to compliment AJ wouldn't be the end of the world.
While I agree, I just don't see Fleener being that player in the NFL. He is more of the Owen Daniels TE. I don't see him being the Vernon Davis/Gronk/Jeremicheal Finley TE. The only 2012 draft TE with that type of potential is Dwanye Allen. Who knows if he will put it together though.
Kiper 2.0 Spoiler http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draf...75960&_slug_=mel-kiper-second-mock-draft-year
Interesting he has us taking a DT. Would we really use ANOTHER first round pick on a D-lineman? Seems like we do that every year. Thanks for posting hsf
even if this is a "Mario replacement" pick, it still leaves me scratching my head. I would expect a 1st rounder to start from day 1, and JJ and Antonio are pretty well entrinched at DT
Who cares? Anyway, back to the winning playoff team from Texas, I really am liking Rueben Randle the more I read about him. I hate LSU (overhyped) so I haven't seen many games of his. He'd be a good second round target, if we go another direction besides receiver in the first. http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/profile_display.cfm?prospect_id=3022
As long as you guys address your horrendous secondary early in the draft, I don't see how any Cowboy fan can have a problem with it. I still think Rob Ryan is a hack though.
JJ and Antonio are ends. Worthy is a tackle. He would compete with Shaun Cody and/or rotate with him. Also not a Mario replacement -- Mario plays OLB now. I'm all for it if they think he's the real deal. I don't know anything about him though, obviously. I'd love to have a beast in the middle, as solid as Cody was last year.
JJ and Antonio are our DEs. Shaun Cody and Earl Mitchell are our DTs, and they leave a lot to be desired. The Texans will have to address DT sooner or later, and I'm guessing it's going to be in the earlier rounds of this draft.
JJ and Antonio play DE. This would be an attempt to upgrade on Shaun Cody. I don't know much about Worthy, but the draft talk about him definitely sounds like a Wade kind of guy. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1689519
