I learned it from my idol, paulftsk. I re-evaluted how I should write and realized the pure brilliance of a little "brah" to end a message. Admire him, not me, brah.
[rQUOTEr] David (Illinois) Does Kyrie Irving have a chance of ever becoming a top 10 player in the league? John Hollinger (12:50 PM) Without question, yes. [/rQUOTEr]
it would be interesting to see how kyrie assist numbers would look with better teammates. his ws/48 is much higher than rubio his scoring efficiency is very impressive right now.
With Ricky Rubio, you don't need to trade for a superstar.. he'll make one for you because of this game.
Rubio has more potential, Irving is more of the "safe bet". Irving can score well already and he can pass, but he's not special at anything else right now. Even if he doesn't develop much past this season his scoring ability can help plenty of teams. Rubio has the passing and great court vision. That will always help teams too but, for now, you have to be careful about who you play next to him to be successful. Jason Kidd wasn't a great shooter but he could finish better inside. If he was younger in today's nba he would probably have shot 50%. Rubio doesn't have to be a great shooter but he needs to learn how to finish better to be that future superstar everyone wants him to be.
Completly different type of players. Rubio will be a new Rajon Rondo and Irving has a chance to become an elite scoring pg. Scott is a good coach for him
I don't think Rubio is a better all around basketball player than Irving, because Irving can really score the ball and Rubio still has a faulty shot, but if I was starting from scratch I would choose to build my team with Rubio. I love true PGs with the pass-first mentality, PGs that can make average players look good and good players look great. Plus, Rubio has that razzle-dazzle potential that is just a joy to watch.
I'd take Kyrie because he is more athletic, a better shooter, and younger. At the end of the day, a PG does not lead you to a championship unless he is very special. How many superstar PGs have led teams to championships since Magic? You have a better chance building a championship team around a big man or a elite wing scorer than a PG.
I like your analysis. Irving for right now. In the future, I'm going to take Rubio. When it comes to assists, Rubio is going to be up there in Steve Nash and Chris Paul territory. You cannot teach or gift great court vision, it's not as easy to find vs. a good scorer, which are a dime a dozen. Ironically, each player is lacking what the other one needs. One thing I haven't seen alot of mentions of with Rubio is his defense. Honestly, he could make an All-Defensive squad in the future. He's already a good defender.
Like most said, both will be studs in a few years. Irving is clearly a better player IMO but Rubio is and will be surrounded by far better players.
Irving is younger. So naturally he has more room to improve and therefore more upside. Rubio is a safer bet because he already has shown better basketball sense than Irving. If he improves his shooting, he will be scary.
From what I've seen of Irving, he has that Tim Duncan calmness about him. He'll make a spectacular shot but doesn't show it on his face and get overly excited, which is surprising for a teenager. And Kyrie Swirving is a pretty cool nickname.
4 PG in the league with elite court vision, Paul,Nash, Kidd, Rubio. You cant teach court vision. Rubio in a heartbeat.
