<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3Wln6hCS5Hs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> That looks like horrible form and it is not a lot of weight, but it is pretty amazing a girl so small can lift that much. I am thinking steroids or hgh or some eastern bloc drug has to be involved.
She's going to break her back doing it like that. Arching her spine reduces the distance she has to lift by maybe a couple of inches, but is indeed horrible long term. Not incredible, as girls can mature almost fully by her age. But does ("my father is my trainer") kinda have the ring of Kid Hercules, the kid on Stern from a few years back who ended up being fed steroid shakes by his father backstage.
This!! She isn't body building, she is trying to lift as much as she can, and this is the best form for it.
I love how unlike most white Western countries Russia is basically just picking up where they left off in like 1920. No social workers or overwrought moms talking about "normal childhoods," just carney dads who couldn't get a shift at the factory waking their kids up at 5 in the morning to go to powerlifting meets so they can pocket the prize money.
This. Reminds me of this guy I used to work with who would work out with me and some other guys at lunch. He arched his back and cheated like a mutha to get up more weight. I don't care if that is what power lifters do or whatever; it is much more impressive to me if you keep your back on the bench and do the weight. I doubt she could get 100 pounds up if she had to keep her back on the bench.
That is an insane amount of weight for her. I don't see the purpose, I doubt anyone comes close at her weight so hopefully they never push her that heavy. I don't know why she isn't wearing a bench shirt though.
Are you serious - for starters, you are actually doing more work by keeping your back glued to the bench. Also means that you are giving your chest a better workout which will help your chest get bigger faster. I guess I am old school and just can't accept that type of form is acceptable. I'll stay out of this as I made my position known.
The Newscaster is a hermaphrodite and the trainer is the other guy in Tenacious D. The least wierd thing in this clip is the little girl with monkey strength.
uhh, you want a natural curve in your back to engage the core and actually give you more strength. shoulder blades pulled tight then lower back about inch or so off the bench. so really only your shoulder blades and butt are touching the bench. it can be harsh on your shoulder socket if you dont keep your core tight.
The whole point of the competition is to lift the most weight...that's how they do it, by reducing the distance the bar has to travel...it may not be the safest way, but sports aren't always about being safe and healthy. Pretty much every sport forces you to take certain movements to a point that isn't normal or healthy. Some more than others. Athletes don't always train for proper posture/mobility, they train to do what they need to do to succeed.
with the way that she arched her back, she looked like she was doing decline. that should help out with adding some weight to your bench.
