I just can't believe the negativism that still lives in here given the nightly growth of the Rockets.

Does it really matter if Steve plays point as long as he and Yao provide the type of threat we saw last night versus the Spurs?
Isn't that the Houston version of Shaq and Coby? No, I'm not delusional enough to say that Yao and Shaq are equals ... yet. But then, I am willing to say that the Rocket supporting cast has more talent than the Lakers supporting cast ... particularly with a healthy Cuttino.

Dallas has their big three and they are darn good ... Nowitzki, Nash, Finley. That said, I like our big three ... Francis, Mobley, Ming. Are we equal yet ... nope ... but a bit more experience and I think the match-up is less lopsided than recent scores indicate.

Sure it would be nice if the Thomas/ Taylor/ Rice/ Nachbar/ Griffin/ Morris front court would sort itself out. I think if we would be a little patient, it will.

And yeah, it would be nice if Moochie would play as he did last night every night ... allowing Steve to play the 2. But this team versus last years, and certainly the year before ... is head and shoulders improved.

If we can get through the first half of the year in shouting distance of the league leaders ... I would think we would be incredibly tough to beat in the final 41 games.

Of course, maybe I'm overrating the value of patience...

Well there are a few valid problems:

    1) Rudy T and Francis must run the offense through Yao. Although they did that vs. SA, I'm intrigued to see if they stick to it.

    2) Kenny Thomas must learn how to pass; Eddie must learn to use his size inside opposed to outside...leave that to Glen Rice and Mobley, guys who can actually shoot.

    3) Where is that motion offense we've been hearing about???

    4) I think it's important that Rudy come up with a solid rotation once January gets here. It's not healthy to keep everyone on the team guessing on who's gonna start and what their roles are.

Other than that, this is a young team that has showed tremendous progress and has a very bright future.

The Rockets ALWAYS have SOMETHING wrong with them. If we won all 82 games, swept the playoffs and the championship, I personally guarantee there would be someone in here complaining about SOMETHING.

I don't know if it is just a "fan thing" or what, but complaining about the Rockets is like a hobby for a lot of people.

    :)

3rd place in the Western Conference. . . yeah, there's nothing wrong with that. This team can't be perfect, the Lakers one the last 3 championships and they are far from being perfect. Maybe it's just me, but I can take the bad because there is more than enough good with this team. While people continue to get their jollies by b****ing about everything they can think of, I'm just gonna enjoy the season. Do I hate to see losses, yes, but it's not something that I will let bug me until the next game, I can move on.
