Lady Pantsuit didn't seem to be in explicit opposition to it, just laying out some qualifiers and being fine as all getout.

 

Is there anything wrong with this new system? I think it's helpful.

 

Surveillance is annoying, I imagine like all other information it can be manipulated or abused to frame and/or blackmail.

 

Pre-crime.... really. If they weren't arresting people while watching them actually COMMIT crimes on the cameras before (or enough to deter future criminals in said areas), what makes them think the criminals will worry that a red light empowers them any further?

Your tax dollars at work. Making us all 'safer.'

 

The proliferation of spy technology isn't about protecting the public. It's about creating a police state to protect the one percent, and eventually this technology will suffocate our democracy.

 

When is this going to actually happen? Because people have been saying stuff like this for about 50 years now.

It's gettin ridiculous, our ancestors that REALLY fought for their freedom and independence would be ashamed of this childish crap we're crying about in these times.
My parents and grandparents lived in East Germany and could from one day to another not meet their family and friends that lived in West Germany. People were thrown into jail without evidence for stating their opinion on politics. My dad spent his holidays in Greece and was not allowed to work for police after that, because travelling to a non-socialist country made them suspicious. I know people that spent years in jail for saying the state wasn't democratic or fair. They didn't harm anyone or preach violence, yet got incarcerated.
We accomplished so much in terms of individual freedom, yet people talk this crap, it makes me sick.
There probably never was a society with that much freedom and democracy, yet we b!tch about stupid surveillance and SOPA.

 

That's a prison, not a city.
