Rate them individually on both ends of the floor not as teammates:

    OFFENSE BIGS running PnR
    1. Amare
    2. Griffin
    3. Chandler
    4. Dwight
    5. Deandre
    6. Jevale

    DEFENSE BIGS defending the PnR
    1. Dwight
    2. Bogut
    3. Horford
    4. Deandre
    5. Jevale

    Offense point guards running PnR
    1. Paul
    2. Nash
    3. Rubio
    4. DWill
    5. Rondo (they really don't run PnR that I know of)

Defense point guards defending against PnR
    1. Rondo
    2. Lowry
    3. Paul
    4. Rubio
    5. DWill

My picks aren't absolutes by any means. I don't have Rose on this list. It appears to me that their bigs mostly pick and pop to get out of the way for his drives and finishes. I'd like to see what some of you think and why.

I don't see our team hardly ever running the PnR. We run PnP with Scola and PPat. Why do you have Lowry in there?

He has Lowry as a good PnR defender.

I would say Dwight offensively and defensively is teh best with the pick and roll. The entire Magic offense flows through the PnR with Dwight even though Nelson is a meh PG and Hedo is aging.

More like Pick 'n Pop with Scola. Scola rarely roll

Bill Worrell has Lowry as a good offensive point guard for PnR.

Yeah, I understand Andre Miller. He's very savvy. Good defensively too.

I like your list for the most part, dharocks. Not sure I understand the Diop pick on defense.

It's about the only thing he's good at, or at least used to be good at. I guess he doesn't get enough playing time nowadays to make an educated conclusion, but I was struggling to come up with a 5th guy.

Why did everyone already forget about how torched we got by Tony Parker with 48 minutes of Pick n Roll a few days ago?

He needs to be near the top of all those lists

Biggest problem i have is including Deandre Jordan's name on both offense and defense list. He's maybe around 10. Seen enough games to know that he's just a good help defender who like his team just blocks shots for highlights but not to gain the possession of the ball.

I threw him on there just to have a list so you guys knew what I was after. I didn't really think it through, was just one of the guys that came to my mind first since he can throw it down so good. I don't have any quibbles with anybody rearranging my list.

The reason I made this thread was to see if I could get some thoughts on Deron and Dwight playing in tandem. Personally, I feel that the combination of those two guys....or Dwight and Paul....or Dwight and Rose for that matter, would be a very devastating championship winning combination on both ends of the floor because of their savvy on both ends of the floor in running and defending the basic PnR. Whoever gets Dwight and pairs him with a premier point guard that can run PnR, and can score in addition to throwing the lob and finding guys, in my opinion, has the best chance to dominate the league over the next 5-8 years because of the inside outside balance to their games. Personally, I would take a pairing of Dwight and DWill or Paul or Rose over any other pair in the league, including Lebron/Wade.

The pick and roll is the most basic of basketball plays...yet it is one of the single most effective offensive plays (if not the single most effective offensive play) ever ran. (In my opinion, the PnR IS far and away the single most effective offensive play that a team can run.) And defending the pick and roll is a premium defensive skillset in the NBA, simply because everybody knows how successful the pick and roll game is and almost every team in the league tries to run the play a substantial number of times during the game.

So, in my crude way of thinking, if you can combine a point and a big that are great at running the PnR, that can also defend the PnR very effectively, and the point guard can shoot the 3 and has a good jump shooting game to go with his drive/finish game, then you have the best chance for winning most often.
