yeah...but it's not that risky. He doesn't even need a helmet, because if he wipes out he can fly to safety.
Even more astonishing crow info... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jO-s6rQFgFg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It's definitely not incidental. On a spectrum comparing brain size relative to cognitive ability, the crow is one of the highest on the scale for all animalia. The video that King Cheetah posted is a famous one where the crow recognizes that the straight stick will not be able to pick up the food so it bends it into a hook like tool to pick it up
This is a great book about this group of birds: The Mind of the Raven http://www.amazon.com/Mind-Raven-Investigations-Adventures-Wolf-Birds/dp/0060930632 Ravens and crows do love to play. Friends of mine hiking in the Cascades once came upon about 30 ravens skidding down snowy slopes like the bird in the OP. Except they were wooping it up with each other. Like when one would tumble at the bottom of the slope, the others would basically "laugh" and hop around (!)
