Yao Ming needs to get the ball every time up the court. He is a league leader in FG %, and he isn't a ball hog. He will pass the ball, I truly believe he likes getting the assist just as much as the points.

Sure he will, Ming can't do it by himself he's going to need help. Between them Francis and Mobley averaged about 45 ppg and 10 assist per game. I'm sure the assist will go up, Mobley's assist were actually rising before he got injured, and Francis will be Francis so they'll be fine. I would rather have a great young backcourt and a dominant big men, then get rid of a 20 ppg scorer just to get the ball to your big man more times and stagnate the offense like they're doing in San Antonio. When the rest of the league adjusts to Ming people will appreciate Francis and Mobley because they'll allow Ming to adjust back without added pressures of carrying the team by himself. Let me put it this way, Duncan stormed on the scene like Ming has done, and had a good backcourt. now that backcourt is broken up and they're spending the time trying to rebuild a good backcourt to take pressure off of a frustrated Duncan's shoulders. We have that backcourt for Ming.

I think Mobley can help Yao do better. If the Rockets keep running plays that start off with Yao in the low post, when Mobley comes back, he'll have a better shooter to pass it outside to. That way, teams will have to start respecting the Rockets a little more and not just collapse down on Yao.
