WTF? A cop pulled me over and gave me two speeding tickets for different stretches of highway!?

One was 94 in a 65 and the other was 93 in a 65? I was on the highway during both.

That is nuts. Is that even legal in Texas?

No, it is not legal to drive 93+ in Texas.

Did you slow down to normal speed levels in between? If so, maybe it could be seen as two separate violations.

Though, actually, I think its fair to give multiple speeding tickets if you do it over a certain distance. After all, the longer you were speeding, the more danger others around you were exposed to.

What highway was this on, by the way?

Dude, you're trippin for driving that fast. I hope you die.
No seriously, I'd rather it be you, than innocent people.

Did you ask the officer why you got two tickets? Or were you too busy trying not to go to jail? If you don't know the reasoning, when you show up to court you will find out. (assuming the officer shows...if not then it is dismissed)

Why is everyone flipping out that he was going 90? As long as he is paying attention and not doing other things hike driving. Anyone ever travel between Baytown and western Chambers County during morning or evening rush hour (headed towards Beaumont for work)? Packs of cars go 90-95, swarming around cars going 75. Hell, 45 through Spring has packs going 80, at least. Point being.....big deal. At least he wasn't talking on the cell phone or trying to discipline kids at the same time.

I think he was. Otherwise he'd have seen the cop the first time he tried to pull him over.

I didn't know that because others participate in the same idiotic behavior, that it makes it okay.

I understand 80, and you're right about those packs in Spring ( I live there), but 93? Is that really necessary?

I'm sure if you crash at 90+, it's not a big deal.

But its not speeding that kills. That myth is so overblown. A car can get you going 10 miles per hour and you'll still die. It's two tons coming at you at such a huge force.

I see what you mean if you're a pedestrian, I get that. Lets use that same analogy..

If you crash at 10 mph? Pretty minor right? If you crash at 90? I don't think so.

I'm not trying to say that speeding is going to kill you, but if you do happen to crash while going that fast... welll.. I'll keep you in my prayers.

So, say you're going 90+ miles per hour, and you see traffic coming to a complete stop, and you need to brake now. Who is going to stop first and possibly save themselves from an accident? The guy going 90+ , or the one who is going speed limit?
