No love for Mario? Mario labored for 7 seasons on Lord knows how many continents before making it to the NBA and becoming a key guy on championship teams. Just for perseverance, he has to be Number 1.

Let's not forget how hard Chuck Hayes worked on his free throw shooting... That had to have taken long and extra hours in the gym. He turned himself from a late game liability to a late game clutch defender. there was a time where i thought adelman might have sent him to the line to shoot the techs. LOL

I can see that, amazing rebounder, could get 20 / 30 regardless of competition. However haven't seen, read or heard enough to say he was a hard worker in the off-season and such.

    1. Chuck
    2. OT
    3. Yao
    4. Mario
    5. Moses

To be fair to him, this isn't exactly the "everyone post your list so we can marvel and congratulate you on successfully having an opinion" thread. This is a discussion board. He submitted his list for scrutiny and commentary by others, as did everyone else.

And despite your well-written defense of Bullard, I still find his inclusion ridiculous.

It has to be the dream. As most great players would state, you don't become great by talent alone. You have to work hard.

We easily forget that the dream did not touch a basketball till he was in his teens and was able to develop his basketball game to legendary status. He was primarily a defensive stopper when he was drafted but became an offensive force in a short period of time You don't get there without outworking everybody. Most NBA players have all the physical skills to make them great. The ones that works the hardest usually has the most success.

Kevin Willis was an absolute workhorse -- the man could bench press over 400 pounds.

Yeah, I'd give Willis a vote. You'd probably have to give Jim Jackson a nod too. Both played well into their golden years.

I like this thread, brought out the old schoolers on the board.

Honorable Mentions: Chucky Brown, Carl Herrera, when not injured, and Scotty Brooks!
