Don't hit us with these negative waves so close to game time. Have a little faith <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KuStsFW4EmQ#t=0m51s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Wouldn't that actually mean the Texans have a better statistical chance of winning tomorrow? I don't know the percentage of away teams winning, but I assume it's less the home team winning percentage.
Absolutely shocked about the 49ers winning that game. Great game and glad the Saints got put out. Where was this production from Vernon Davis when fantasy football was going on smh
People in San Francisco are celebrating like the team won the super bowl. It's pretty funny. spilling from bars into streets and dancing, horn honking. But it was a pretty amazing game. I have *never* seen Alex Smith play like that. When he came on the field with under 2 minutes left, the look on his face was just kind of like a scared rookie, and I thought to myself, here we go again. But he was nails. One sad observation was that, on the winning touchdown, nobody celebrated with him. They were all over Vernon but he was just left to himself, looking for someone to hug. Whatever. Dude has amazing mental toughness. He's endured so much criticism and booing over the last seven years here. As for Vernon: I think his fate is totally tied to Alex Smith. He can't have a good game if Alex isn't throwing him lasers like yesterday. Vernon doesn't get a lot of separation typically, at least when I watch, so really crisp passes are needed. But yeah, once he gets the ball look out. So if the 49ers threw more during the regular season, and Alex was throwing those sorts of passes, Vernon would be a fantasy monster.
As a Saints fan, Alex Smith did not win that game Our defensive coordinator was calling the most dumb plays at the end of the game. You Do Not Call In a Cover 1 Or Cover 0 under 2 minutes in a football game knowing the other team HAS to pass down field to either tie, or win. Greg Williams should have been fired on the spot in the locker room. The Saints can not move forward with him as our Defensive Coordinator. Don't care how many times we stopped them during the course of the game. If you can't play prevent schemes at the end of the game, you are a incompetent coach.
Alex Smith was a big reason they won at the end of the day he had to make the throws. It makes no sense to say he didn't win the game. As for the Saints they are apparently going to interview Tony Sparano.
I've seen prevent defense prevent more wins than losses. As for the Saints D, they did the perfect anti-Alex gameplan for most of the game. Bring pressure. All season long (and in his entire career), this is the way to bring out the FAIL in him. But yesterday, he dealt with the pressure somehow. He was mind-controlled by Joe Montana or something. But I agree you can't just say one person won it. He made the throws, but even just Frank Gore's amazing blitz pick-ups... just wow. SF needed all of that. And each Saints turnover was needed as well.
the only reason the throw was able to put in the place it was was because of the position of the defense due to the play call.. Jenkens is a Free Safety that had to not only cover Davis, but run 10-14 yards down just to get in position to cover him. Cover 0, or Cover 1 because the SS was floating, either way... it was the most horrible play call for a end of a game when a team HAS TO GO DEEP TO WIN. You don't call cover 1 or 0 in that situation at any given time, any point of the end of any game Especially when you leave the top of the field open for a 2 Crossing Routes Wide Open because your Safety ran 15 yards toward the LOS just to get in position to cover your man. Fire the DC on the spot.
Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan definitely regressed. After their rookie seasons people thought both of them would be elite QB's by now.
Why do head coaches look so awkward when they throw the challenge flags? They eye the spot they want to throw it, then they look around to see if it is okay, and then toss is feebly in the most strange fashion to the ground. As if they don't know exactly what they are supposed to do with that flag.
