Timberwolves Attendance Up 14.4 Percent From Last Season Jan 14, 2012 1:30 PM EST http://www.foxsportsnorth.com/01/13..._timberwolves.html?blockID=645742&feedID=3543 In the Timberwolves' first seven home games, the average attendance was 17,442, up 14.4 percent from last season's average (15,242) and 15.5 percent from two years ago (15,101). That's a sizeable jump for a team that has yet to prove it's any better than its predecessors, and it's dramatically altered the feeling inside the Target Center. "It was nice," Kevin Love said after the team's Jan. 1 game against Dallas. "The crowd here, in the three home games that we had, has been great. I think if we continue to play the ball that we have … they're going to come. It's nice. There's a little electricity there." The Timberwolves' average attendance puts them at 14th in the league, a vast improvement from 24th a season ago and 25th in 2009-10.
wow, this guy just has 'it'. He is not a scorer, but in the clutch he calmy hits their last 5 points. He just makes plays and things happen on the court. Rubio is must see tv
Rubio 45.5% from downtown, wtf happened. Never seen such a turnaround in someones shooting abilities in a few months. He was one of the most terrible shooters I've ever seen for a guard when he was playin in Europe. He averages 11pts, 8.3ast, 4.1reb, 2spg in 30.8mpg, imagine what his average will be if he continues to play 35+min per night. Could easily average something ~14pts, 10ast, 5reb, 2.5spg. My ROY candidate right now.
In Europe, he wasn't asked to score, but rather focus on assisting and defending. So he probably neglected his shooting, but hes naturally not a bad shooter. He probably worked on shooting a ton this offseason.
He got tons of open shots and bricked them terribly while not dishing out many assists. He was basically dead on offensive possessions in the last 2-3 years. His career average for Euroleague was 27.6% from downtown, 31.4% in league games. And keep in mind the Euro 3pt-line was much closer to the basket than in the NBA, plus the majority of these shots were wide open because defenders stepped away from him(like with Rondo). He never was a shooter, he must have spent ridiculous hours on improving his shot this offseason, knowing it's a must for him to be legit here. This must have been the hardest offseason of his career by miles.
Not a full 20 min video, but pretty informative anyway <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FTTnaW0sLgs?version=3&hl=ru_RU"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FTTnaW0sLgs?version=3&hl=ru_RU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
The part where Rubio gets elbowed by that Hawks player and he gets that pissed off look is pretty funny. When Rubio gets mad it doesn't match him. Dude is naturally innocent looking lol
