The Rockets need one of their young guys to be a scorer

Perhaps the most disappointing thing about the Rockets this season has been the inability of their young guys to step up and be able to develop an ability to score. The way Landry and Brooks did. To me that's one reason we have such a bad +/- with our bench.

I had high hopes that Patterson could be that player. That he can be Landry plus defense and size. I had less hope for CBud could be somewhat more consistent in his ability to get big games like the 2nd half of last season. I thought TWill was a long shot but had a chance to be a homeless-man T-Mac. All three failed.

It seems Morey realized this and drafted two players who are scorers: Motiejunas and Morris. Motiejunas is in Europe, but we need Morris to quickly develop so there is a legit scoring threat outside Scola/Martin/Lowry. Otherwise, the burden on those 3 are just too high and the team suffers for it.

Well, Courtney will help the bench out tremendously when he comes back

I'm not sure if our team wouldn't be better off trading Kevin Martin for Carl Landry.

This. He helps run the point too when Dragic is looking hopeless. Team is primed for a run and him coming back will help tremendously.

I think it's too early to give up on Ppat. He's recovering from injury and had even less of an off-season than the rest of the rockets. I think the potential is there to be a great player.

It has been apparent since all 3 have been here that they would not be consistent "scorers". They were to fill special roles on the team. However, Buds role on the team is non-existent without an Adelman offense; Hill is just too unpolished, unsure of himself, and thinking too much to be that defensive/rebounding asset; and Williams has been not been able to come up with the good balance of making plays for teammates and playing in control.

None of those 3 were ever going to be true scorers.

I'm not giving him up. But I am disappointed. I thought the whole float around and shoot jumpers was a phase to get him acclimated to the NBA. But I want to see more in his game. Remember he was the main option at Kentucky for two years there. He needs to remember back to those days and assert himself more. So he has the skills. He has the experience. He just needs to start doing that again.

yep, Pat was beasting down the stretch last season. I have a feeling he'll be our Landry soon enough.

WTF? How does trading one scorer for another help our offense? And how does trading a defensive liability at SG for a defensive liability at PF help? Such a trade would only exacerbate the problem I outlined.

we don't need any more scorers, I just looked at the standings, and despite all our losses, we have serious competition for the last 5 spots. The Leastern conference arguably started tanking before the season started, we need to ice all our starters to stay competitive in the stakes

I want my point guard to average more than 1.4 assists a game, even if he's the backup.

Morris is a scorer, but he needs the ball a lot....maybe he develops as CXbby thinks he will.

I don't see it in him, unless he gets a decent jump shot. He's more like a young Shane Battier right now.

too be honest, im ok with ppatt just being a role player who's athletic, play d, rebound and hit the jumpshot consistently. I never expected him to be a scorer or a allstar type.
