With the Clippers game dunk and the 20 point performance against the Bobcats I think Parsons is coming into his own. At the same time we are seeing a little bit of character from the rookie. He has fun while playing the game: all smiles and stare downs after big-time putbacks. He is exactly what Rockets fans need to get through what looks to be an incredibly frustrating season.
Yes...these are the kind of players we need to build our identity. Look at the Houston Texans. Lots of underdog, love the game, passionate players.
Parsons is a darn good player. I'm very surprised by his poise and skills. However, I'm not gonna get carried away and think he is our tebow or something. still remember luther head and cbud's rookie years and how promising they were. a solid role player is all I ask.
Why? The Rockets have been playing at least OK for the most part considering the Lowry injury and that they've had one of the toughest (if not THE toughest) schedules in the league thus far.
Parson's is tonnes different, he can play defense adequately, hustle, rebound. Budinger and Head didn't do that stuff
lol Tebow could well be the most over rated and ref supported player in the history of professional sports, he is a terrible player (lol his net result in the last game was +46 yards, and -7 points, yes he scored more for the opponents than his own team, and his only touchdown was a blatantly obvious illegal offense the refs ignored)
Another second round gem for Morey. Love the kid's attitude-- and bet McHale does, too. Bud, MM, TWill, you guys pay attention and take notes. If everyone on the team brings that kind of hustle, we'll be hard to beat.
If we don't ever expect Parsons to initiate the offense then we will be ok. His upside is a longer Shane Battier or Robert Horry without the movie star looks.
It looks like Morris may be in trouble too, he doesn't play like Parsons does.....he is more of a scorer....maybe the Rox will trade him? DD
Luther Head and the Flying Rooster are not 6'9/'10 with handles, a feel for the game, great passing, shooting, defensive intensity, rebounding and poise.
