With Dallas starting slow, the Spurs and Grizz injured, I think we could, but I don't think we will. We will be cautious with our players. In back-to-back sets, we will play our younger guys and shoot for a higher draft pick.
i doubt it... even with all the injurys within our division we just wont be able to get over our horrible coach and our average roster... too short of a season and too much of a grind for our team to learn a new system and gel together.... which is better than making the playoffs...we can get a decent draft pick...
I think we did better than expected (although after watching could have pulled out another win or two). I had predicted we only win like 2 games during this stretch. - the schedule now gets easier so hoepfully the boys can win the ones thye supposed to and build some sort of a cushion over 500
why would you want to be at or hovering above .500,,,, we have been there for years and it does nothing to help us long term or short term....
When the schedule lets up, we'll start looking a lot better. Then I expect the optimistic posters will come out of lurk-mode and start telling all the tankers to eat crow because we're going to the playoffs! Then, we'll fade down the stretch as some team like Memphis puts on the jets to sew up the 8th spot in the post-season. Then, I see the tankers coming back with a vengeance calling for Morey's head because he neither tanked nor got into the playoffs and we'll get the 14th pick, again! Then, in the offseason, Morey will finally hit his home-run and both the tankers and the sunshine asses will forget all about this pointless season and start salivating over 2012-2013.
i'm saying that im hoping we do well in this stretch to get at/above 500. - my descision depends after when the shcedule evens out and we see how our players play during then - overrall im against tanking because it rarely is as amazing as some ppl portray it, creates a losing atmosphere, and i would never cheer for my team to lose
My opinion hasn't changed since just before the season began. I figured we'd win 3 games out of the first 10, and here we are. Also, because of how things are playing out with other teams in the conference, and because we picked up a true defensive center (though I haven't seen it in his stat line over the past 4 or 5 games), I think we'll make it to the playoffs this season, disappointing a lot of you guys. 34 wins still sounds about right. It may not be what many of you want, but the truth of the matter is that Les isn't planning on blowing this team up. He wants more wins than losses.
We didn't look this bad the first few games. So we know we can play better. I am still hopeful that we can start to pull it together, I checked the standings and although we are second to last in the West, thus far the defending Champs the Mavericks are out of the playoffs at 9th right now. We have only played 8 games. We are 2-6, we aren't 2-10. We've had two days to practice and I think they will get a win tonight. I'm making a prediction. With the Rockets win tonight, they begin a 17-7 run and make the playoffs.
This^^ with all the knee-jerking, trolling, and suicide watching going around on here this is a fresh breath of normality.
Given other discussions around here on the mental state of the team and related issues, I think it's important that this team put together a winning streak. "Winning cures all ills" is bandied about, but it does more than anything else to stabilize egos and foster unity. The longer we continue to slide, the more our older players are going to lose their passion, and the more the younger guys are going to miss out on experience with a solid team (I think a positive lockerroom culture is invaluable to a rookie/sophomore). I predict a .500 team, but maybe I'm just anchored on the past. I'm feeling like another 05-06 season.
With our luck we end up getting the Off-season or draft picks we have been waiting for and the end of the world really does happened :/
None whatsoever. If they suck, hopefully they'll suck bigtime and get a good lottery pick. It'll give me something to hope for in the summer. If they don't suck, it'll be another wonderful mediocre year. Yay! I can't believe all the fighting over whether Budinger has peaked or if TWill will get better - seriously? I couldn't care less whether you're a tanker or little miss sunshine - go root for whatever you want. I'm waiting for next season.... again... Go Rockets!
I think we could be the 8th seed, maybe 7th. I like the roster, we should know by trade deadline what the team is doing if we deal Martin and/or Scola. I never like losing and not making the playoffs, but I hate the idea of losing our 1st to NJ, and Im nervous how NY will do rest of the way, I pray they dont stink and get top 5, then we dont get the pick. Im hoping in the 8th pick range for the Knicks pick.
YES WE HAVE OUR SUPERSTAR! YES WE HAVE A BIG MAN
"Basketball Reasons" BUT In Morey we trust. He brought us many big men At least bball season started!!! Clutchfans: "Mchale, what's up with the rotations? And CALL A TIMEOUT."
