How in the heck do you miss Jason Kidd? He is second in all time career assists! He was Ricky Rubio before Rubio for his court vision. Steve Nash I can kind of understand since he can shoot and score as well but Kidd since he first came in the league was renown his his passing.

Yeah. The court vision Rubio displays is elite but not unique. The league has seen Kidd, Nash, Rondo, Strickland, Webber, McGrady, Jason Williams, Mark Jackson... players with incredible vision and passing. The totality and style of their games is what defined each player. Rubio will write his unique story with the total game he develops.

I have this (poor) theory that when one talent leaves the league, another like it enters. Kidd/Nash is on his way out, Rubio enters. Rubio isn't bringing something new, just something rare.

And you can really appreciate how much better the T-Wolves are when he is on the court. Dude is the real deal.

He looks like a vet. The T-Wolves are better with him on the floor. He is quick with his defensive rotations, he gets the ball to teammates in their comfortable spots. He doesn't over dribble and moves well without the ball. He never looks lost. He knows basketball.

The box score may or may not show it, but he is making his presence felt.

That's what he did overseas game after game. He goes in and the team goes on a huge + run. He goes out and they go negative. I seen it time after time after time. It really doesn't matter if he starts. He is getting starter minutes, he's there to close the games, and even when there are multiple point guards on the floor, Ridnour or JJ defers to him. The team is already his.

    This was not true.

I want Rubio to succeed. It is good for the game. But you guys are not within reality.

He is not Magic...and he sucked last year in Europe very badly. So do not say he succeeding at Barcelona...because you are wrong.

It does matter who's starting when it's -31 for the night Luke Ridnour. Start Barea or start Rubio, but the catchup game Rubio always has to come in for is not working.

    Lowry is better, right now.

That's just a fact. If you can't see that...and I've watched 5 Minnesota games...then you are making **** up. The box score of Lowry is better and the play of Lowry is better.

And don't give me this "he's only 21 yrs old" BS then compare him to Magic and Bird when he's not better than Lowry right now.

Lowry is better, but he is not a better passer and offense set up man.

Lowry is better because his D is better, his rebounding is better, and he has more experience.

But Rubio has a lot of room to grow, and he is not short like Kyle......

I would still trade Rubio for Lowry......

No... last year he was terrible... they tried to him involved, but he was terrible. He may do well in the NBA with the larger court, better athletes and rules that favor offense... but don't rewrite history.

When is Adelman gonna start the better and more productive players? Having them coming off the bench to clean up the starters mess isn't gonna work everytime. And is there a worse player than Wes freaking Johnson?

heypartner, you just don't get it, Rubio has super elite "court vision", he gets the ball into peoples hands. Think about that, he gets it into the hands of an open player!!, that is truly what makes him like Magic Johnson. I haven't seen anyone get the ball into peoples hands the way this guy does it....its truly unique and out of this world....he friggin makes his presence felt when he's on the court, it doesn't matter if it translates onto the boxscore.....thats how amazing he is. ;)

This is going to ridiculous point. Rubio has quite a good start but the hype is too big. Highlights are full of rubio even if he was not a best player on a team. He for sure has one of the bests court visions, but conclusions are being made too early. One half says he's almost all-star already, the other half still says he's overrated. Let's just wait for a while. Fact is - he develops his induvidual offensive skills - he's all-star, he does not - he remains good/average PG in the league (calderon for comparison).

PS. last year was not good year for Rubio, but was not so bad either. At least he delivered in assists, rebounds and total efficiency, just was extremlely low on scoring and FG percentage. PS. few years ago he averaged 40% from 3-point line in ACB league. His jumpshot just was so off last season. I do think he was very tired from so many years non stop (pro league, Euro WC championships for national team and youngster teams in early stages). The early lockout was blessing in disguise for rubio. He had time to rest and work on his induvidual skills. We can see now it is paying off.

went to watch him live today. He has some sick pass speed, sometimes his teammates won't even react fast enough. He's calm and set up the pace for his team, which messes up the raptors pace.

One thing I noticed is he's really active on D. Never settle down, always trying to get a steal or deflect the ball, especially passes to post.

He's still a rookie, and lots of area to improve, but overall, he looks good with good decision making

I don't think Love deserves the max contract. His offense is much worse than Yao or Scola except 3pt shooting. His post move is terrible!
