If anyone heard Mel Kiper this morning on Mike & Mike, he was already preparing for a Pats/Ravens matchup while hoping for the Broncos to win (he's a big Ravens fan). He completely dismissed the Texans solely because of TJ Yates.

That's right. A supposed "expert" completely dismissed the 11-6 AFC South champ simply because of it's qb...who just destroyed Cincy. A fan of the team that won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer.

I can only hope the Ravens are doing the same as their fan base.

A 3 turnover deferential can decide any NFL match-up. The Texans D certainly has that potential.

Mel Kiper should go back to what he's good at, the draft . . . . . oh, wait.

What makes that whole story funny is that Kiper was really high on Yates when we picked him.

Your post is just as short sighted as his opinion.

Yea because when he made his analysis he based it on Yates beating Baltimore on the road in the playoffs.

Lazy thinking is running rampant on Clutchfans.

    Mel, is that you?

What's short sighted about reporting what I heard this morning on a national show by a supposed expert? There was no analysis on his part other than the Texans are going to lose because of their rookie qb. That's it. That's all he said. Did you hear it? If you heard something else, please let us know.

did you know, of their 13 wins, the Pats didn't beat one team that finished the season with a winning record?

Eh, every person in the national media is dismissing us for this game. It's not surprising, or unwarranted. The team just needs to play Texans-style football, and limit the mistakes. If Arian can run even half as effectively as he did against Cincinnati, that will be a big boost for this team. The national media can brush us aside all they want.....it's about the 53 guys in that locker room right now. If they believe in themselves (which I know they do), then the sky is the limit.

Even in the preseason they were 0-2 against good teams and 2-0 against bad teams.

Baltimore's defense is great but pretty old. If they get worn down in the 2nd half its ours for the taking. Stay within striking distance the first few quarter and run a ton of stretch runs to wear them out. Make the linemen run from sideline to sideline all game baby!

Other than Lewis and Reed, the rest of their D is almost all 30 or younger, save for Corey Redding, who is 31 I believe. They're not nearly as old as the Steelers D. I'm not banking on tiring them out. We're going to have to play smart (penalty & turnover free) football and capitalize on Flacco's inevitable mistakes.

Contain Ray Rice and don't turn the ball over and we can win. Raven fans are kidding themselves if they think this game will be a blow out.
