    I was about to make a thread but the lightning and thunder is crazy on the north side. It is rumbling for a minimum of 5 secs at a time and it is loud! I have never seen anything like this.

    We hardly ever get thunderstorms in the Northeast like you guys do in Houston. Especially during the winter.

    I live close to an airport, and last week, I heard a rumble. It took me about two minutes to figure out it was thunder, and not a plane.:cool:

    it was insane around town and country. around. 9 am. got a little worried for a couple of min. rotating clouds

    Girlfriend just called, said she's on I-10 at the Beltway, 20 cars in front of her are flooded and traffic is standing still. Flash flood fail :(

    It's funny looking out my window in Midtown. The intersections here always get really flooded in heavy sustained rain because they drain a bit slow, so it's always entertaining to watch cars attempt to fjord the pseudo rivers. Currently, I see 5 cars and a Metro bus stuck, with many more having made it into nearby parking lots.
