- ravens at home - yates is gonna be eaten alive by ngata and sizzle - reed ballhawking - rb's cancel out but houston had a better offense with schaub.. - this game is all about which flacco shows up.... if the good one comes its game over - if the bad flacco shows houston can make an upset - ravens win... black and purple
ON a scale of 1 to 10 OUR OFFENSE is a 7 . . .to me theirs is a 5 maybe 6 Their Defense is a 9 . . ours is an 8 I think we can beat them. Comes down to . . .. turnovers i think Rocket River
I worked in Baltimore for like 2 and half years. It is a beautiful architectural landscape; but the people suck. They're all ghetto drunken trash. They drink "natty bo" like water, put Old Bay spice on all their foods, and no one from Baltimore speaks decipherable English. They love their Ravens though. They have a nice stadium with good parking, which allows them all to get well hammered before the game. A big key to this game is get a lead to take out this drunken crowd. They're like New Orleans' crowd, but uglier. Strip the Ravens of their fan support and all you got is a great run stopping D, big play pass D that is vulnerable because they gamble, great RB, and a completely untrustworthy QB.
The Texans can win next week if: 1 Flacco is awful (very possible) 2 They have reasonable success stopping Ray Rice (doubtful) 3 Win the turnover battle (doubtful) 4 They can run the ball well (doubtful) If I had more faith in Flacco, I wouldn't give the Texans anything more than a punchers chance next week. But Flacco isn't trustworthy. Baltimore'd D isn't what it used to be, but it could get ugly if they get a lead.
I think we got a damn good chance. Sure, they got a great D but ours isnt too shabby. People act like its a foregone conclusion that we will get beat but their offense is not very good, especially if the bad Flacco shows up.
I don't care what Baltimore does, but the Texans cannot let Ray Rice beat them. Jam him at the line of scrimmage if he's coming out of the back field and do whatever it takes to stop him. I will live with Flacco trying to air it out.
To be honest...Texans playing with house money here. I say throw the kitchen sink at Baltimore and hope to land a massive early blow. Don't like having to come from behind to win at their place.
texans did a good job in containing their running game until cody got dinged up, soon after that rice and sticky icky williams just gashed through the holes. The Ravens D will know what's coming before the ball is even snapped. Their defensive game planning is that precise, but I know wade will have a little something for flacco. We have more than a good chance. 'If they bleed, we can kill them'
Low scoring game I think we can keep Baltimore under 20. If our D play their best and can stop Rice and can shut down Joe, we should be able to stop them under 20. With a low scoring game, anything can happen on offense. We will only need 1 big play from Andre and rest our rushing game can handle. I just don't think we can score above 20 against defense. But in a low scoring match, anything can happen when you have Foster and Johnson on your team.
Having AJ back helps the ground game a lot. He wasn't there for the first Cincy game and Arian didn't have a good game and he exploded today. Arian didn't run well against Baltimore and AJ didn't play that game either. Hopefully the threat of AJ will keep the Ravens from committing too much attention to the run. Besides Baltimore, the Texans have faced 5 of the top 10 run defenses in the NFL. Miami (#3) - 138 rushing yards Atlanta (#6) - 162 Pittsburgh (#8) - 180 Jacksonville (#9) - 156 & 88 Cincinnati (#10) - 144 & 188 So they could shut us down again, but it's also possible for us to have a good day on the ground against a top rush D.
Ravens scare me more than any other team in the AFC. If we can win this game I think we go to the Superbowl. But, I would put our chances of winning at under 50%. I don't think the Ravens are heavily favored, but I do think they are favored, especially since we will be on the road.
If we had them here I would be saying Texans all the way, but in Baltimore, its going to be harsh. I think if we don't allow the crowd to get into our heads it will be close. We have to play a near perfect game to win there, and I think with the confidence that we got from today, its possible.
I will officially be surprised . . if the Texans don't win. Baltimore is flawed. Yates will have to play above his head. .. no doubt but I think he can. I think his ability to move better than Schaub should help Flacco can be rattled. Rocket River
Won't lie, Ravens are the last team I want to see on the road. That D is just nasty, and our receivers are struggling to get open, even with Andre (75%) back. If they can hold down Tate/Foster, we're in big trouble. I do trust our D to rough up their offense. Bengals showed how a quick passing scheme can nickel and dime us up and down the field...but Flacco and his C- receiving corps aren't going to be anywhere near as successful with that. Cushing vs Rice will be critical. Sometimes you have to forget the odds and what's on paper and just believe. The Giants' SB run made no sense. Neither did the Cards. So let's go not make sense for a few weeks.
I haven't paid attention at all to the Ravens this season, but all my friends (non-Houstonian) keep telling me we are going to get destroyed. I don't get why?
O-line needs to make sure Suggs doesn't get to Yates. Guy is a monster and destroys everything if he can get to Yates. Find a way to make sure he gets blocked.
Ravens have one of the best defense in the league and a terrific run game. To some fans, the Texans (without Schuab) are like the Ravens. Both teams right now count on running the hell out of the ball and playing great defense. The problem with Ravens is their inconsistency and their less than stellar offense. Unfortunaely, their inconsistency problem is the fact that on the road, they ain't that good. When they are playing at their home, it's a whole new team. I would say their crowd is just as loud as New Orlean's. I might be mistaken, but I believe they are 8-0 at home.
Ok thanks! So basically they have the same attributes as the Texans.. except better? Hopefully the Yates-Johnson combo can make a couple of key plays so that we don't have to rely too much on Arian.
