Well sure, but the passing was very crisp, and that's the key -- PASSING.

This team's problem has always been that there's an inverse relationship between intelligence and offensive involvement.

I am blaming Rudy for still having this team so tied up. Let them loose. They are not free and are very mechanical. We are playing the hardest possible form of basketball. There is no running. Every possession is a grind it out possession with a team that cannot pass the ball. With the slowed down play it also affect the approach to defense. The Kings under on the other hand has a lot more freedom. The difference between Tmo and Wallace is not as large as it looked tonight; but that is what freedom would do for you. Wallace is free, Tmo is tied up. The slowed down action also hurts our shooting. These are athletes, Rudy, let them go.

Can you imagine what the score would of been had Sac had Bibby, PEJA,Turgo in the line up. This should be an eye opener for the rockets. Someone needs to step up and get in the other players faces and tell them to pick it up or get on the bench. It seems almost all of the players just do what ever they want on the court. This team is tottaly out of sink. We still have 4 more Very tough road games ahead. This could get very ugly.

Well, I'm very sad about our play tonight. I just do not understand what we are doing out there on the court. It's like we do not want to give Yao the ball. We keep players like Boki on the bench? Where is Rice, what's up with him? We are missing Mobley. We looked tired out there too. I'm just tired of losing. I love the Rockets and want to see them win.

Rockets got way too many turn overs. Kings don't waste time to capitalize on them.

Can the Rockets outscore the Kings?

    No.

    So why no D?

    Hmmm...

We still would have lost by 5, but still. At least give yourself a chance.

Vengeance, You are right on target. This team is very athletic, but they exhibit (even when they win) a very low basketball I.Q. They appear to be poorly coached, but we can't know that to be the case.

If I were scouting this team, I would report that they are have a good measure of raw talent, but they are very weak on fundamentals. They don't pass well, shoot well, or defend well. They appear to be playing as individuals. Many of their players appear disinterested. This is a team that could become explosive if they get it together, but, at this point, there is no threat of that.

As to the Kings, be glad that several of their star players didn't play. They pass well, shoot well, and defend well. They play as a team.

    Fans, I just don't understand.

I knew it would be tought to be Sac, in their own place. Yet, I was not expecting this. It almost makes me wanna cry. I mean, I'm a HUGE Rockets fan and it's like we just got beat up bad tonight. I just don't understand. What's wrong with us guys? I look at the Rockets and see alot of talent. What's wrong? Please help me out here. I know we still have a winning record but I'm just expecting more than this....... *Sigh* I hate losing.

    Defense.

If you don't play it, you never get fast breaks, either.

    So, it's a double-wammy.

If your not hitting your shots, then, it's a tripple-wammy!

    1. No defense tonight.
    2. Never more than 1 outside shooter lately.
    3. Nobody ever wants to post down low except Yao and they are still reluctant to feed him till he drops. Tonight against Sac he got 3 fouls on all their big men so naturally the Rockets STOPPED giving him the ball down low after that.
    4. For more than a week and a half now, KT and Mooch have flat out sucked. But for some reason Rudy keeps giving them more and more time to clank shots, make stupid passes, run out the shot clock, and find other endless ways to turn the ball over.
    5. Against Sac tonight,Rudy went waaayyyyy too long with a line up of Steve,Yao,HAWK,KT,and MOOCH. Of those last three, none is even remotely able to hit from the outside consistently. But there they were, just bricking away. And there Rudy sat....not taking them out or insisting on a low post offense.
    6. And if they're going to waste Yao by having him set all those picks so far away from the basket, how about fooling the defense a little by kicking it back to him as they drive by him so he can shoot a jumper. Pssst, tell Rudy Yao can shoot from outside 5 feet.

I didn't watch the game, but it seems to me after reading the posts on this thread that the guys didn't stick with the game plan which obviously had to be modified after the injury to Glen Rice. Francis and Moochie should keep on passing the ball into the low post to Yao and Cato if the PF's can't get the job done and Yao should try to hit jumpers from 10-15 feet when he can't match up with the bigger guys.We didn't have a three point threat tonight with Rice being out therefore it was essential to get more scoring from the 5 spot. 3 shots for Yao isn't going to get the job done.
I'm glad that Nachbar finally got on the court even if it was for some garbage minutes. He needs to have more minutes if he is going to get a chance to score. I just hope that he has recovered from his groin injury.

What I don't understand is why the Rockets didn't immediately pound it into the middle from the beginning of the second half with both Vlade and Keon with 3 fouls a piece.
