After reading the Dale Davis thread, I couldn't help but speculate about Al Harrington. I'm normally not fond of dreamcasting, but the Pacers *are* concentrating on winning now, and they'll need a couple more pieces to contend with the likes of Miami. Since they already have Jonathan Bender projected for the same position, does anyone think they might part with Al Harrington for Williams, Drew, and Rogers? They could certainly use some depth at the point (I'm sure Rose will play some at the 3), some depth at the 3, or another veteran 4. Houston isn't going to win next year, and Harrington looks like he could be a nice player eventually. Remember, this is a *complete* hypothetical, as I wouldn't know a source if one knocked me over in the street. ------------------ The lottery sucks. Playoffs 2001. I like your thinking haven, however, Harrington is not going anywhere. The Pacers have a very nice mix of youth and vets. No rebuilding in their future. ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
I'm pretty certain that the Pacers will hang onto all their younger players, they're hoping that one of either Bender or Harrington or Croshere will become a real star and the other 2 will be good players - they've managed to rebuild already and they have the luxury of easing their younger players into the NBA while still contending for a title with their vets. As for the trade, I think Al Harrington makes about 1-2mill and the 3 rockets players make about 7-8mill ... doesn't quite work... taht plus the fact that they (pacers) have Bender, Harrington and Mullins and Rose to play SF.... plus Davis and Croshere and Farmer at PF... bummer... oh well ------------------
