"No Big guy has completely dominated the league at 7 foot+ with a completely finesse style game.

Like Ming....would trade him for James though."

Yao has a host of offensive arsenals, but that doesnt make him a finesse player. Ralph Sampson was, not Yao. You could only say Yao has more finesse than physical plays at this stage of his game, but not "completely". Yao has made a number of nice dunks in recent games, that might be starting off as a finesse play but ended up with a "physical" dunk. That's why Yao is so much fun to watch. He is not a "purely" "completely" physical player like Shaq.

If James is as good as people say he is then lets trade Francis for the #1 pick, then trade Rice\Taylor\Cato\Mobley for Kevin Garrnett.

    C-Yao
    PF-Griffin
    SF-Garrett
    SG-James
    PG-Norris

With Yao and James who could stop us? Plus we have Garrnett too!!!!!!

"I would trade Francis for Gilbert Arenas?" Ok I have officially seen it all. What in the world can Arenas do better than Steve? Absolutely nothing. That was possibly the biggest joke statement ive heard on this message board.

I hope Ming pans out a bit so you guys who are so high on him dont cry yourselves to sleep every night if he becomes a bust. I think hell be solid, I dont see him as the type to dominate. But what do I know, I am the same guy who would trade Ming for Kobe and TMAC...how ridiculous is that?

Nobody knows whether Ming will surely be the next dominant center, or whether James will surely be the next Jordan. But generally speaking, good centers are hard to come by than good points guards. That's the main reason Ming will be more valueable than James. There is only one Shaq. But there are many good guards, T-Mac, Kobe, Payton, Kidd, steve, Iverson, etc.

Practically speaking, Rockets will never want to trade Ming for James, not in the next four years. We already have two good guards Steve and Cat. Why the hell we need another guard? They will only want to trade Ming with Shaq. But LA would never let Shaq go for sure...

How could a thread like this got so much attention?

This trade would be like trading 1 lottery ticket with another lottery ticket. Who knows which lottery ticket would be better? Only God would know.

Haha, you finally couldnt resist to say it. Despite what you said afterward, I got a feeling that you werent really high on Yao in the beginning. I wonder were you one of the SF > Rox fans here who was forced to follow the Yao bandwagon (definitely not on board). For those of you who are so high on SF that he would become a team player, my CRY goes out to you every night.

if you think James is next MJ,why not taking him over Francis.
it's obvious you are not objective when make judgements about player. same with YaoMing.
only 15 NBA games,YaoMing will be no Shaq/Hakeem
only high school league, james will be MJ????????????????

I think this guy is one of the dumbest posters I've ever met. He wants to trade Yao when he's starting to show signs of dominance? How about I say this: we have all seen and therefore have proof that Yao can dominate in the NBA, show me that James will dominate in the NBA, I'll make it even easier, show me proof that he will be even an average player in the NBA, or that he will better than Yao, we'll trade for him. How is that? I'll even drop the fact C, not guards (except Jordan) win championships. Just give me proof James is better.
