We don't know what happened but I have to say the misogyny on this board is out of control.

OH, I get it, I am supposed to be upset because it is a "female victim". Sorry, don't give a hoot. A ref is a ref, and I believe that Lowry was acting in the interest of the game, and not in the interest of his "rep" or "street cred".

That being said I have played many pickup games that became very passionate so I think I can write this off as a playful-in-the-heat-of-the-moment type of incident...for now.:(

it was reported that it happened after the game was over, so i don't really see how it was "in the interest of the game"

not that it was for rep or street cred, if it happened how they say it happened i feel he was just frustrated with the way the game was called and made a poor decision

I hope you're joking by saying "that is a terroristic threat."

This is what I don't get. Women want equal rights (which i agree with) but when a man does something minor like this they start screaming bloody murder. It's a double standard and all you soft men out there that are like "that's just wrong, no man should talk to a women that way" well boo-friggidy-hoo. This whole thing is probably being blown out of proportion. She was probably giving him some BS calls and he got heated. Everybody makes mistakes and this was VERY minor. It's not like he actually beat her up.

How the hell does throwing a ball at someone a couple times warrant up to six months in jail? She did even get injured in any significant way?

Also, as others have said, that doesn't sound like something Lowry would do at all.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here. Innocent until proven guilty.

Honestly, i have seen girls get hit harder in dodgeball. I highly doubt Lowry threw the ball that fast, not if she recovered fast enough to throw a ball back at him.

"terroristic threat" is actually what it is called in the Texas Penal Code. I've always thought it was the worst named crime ever as it sounds much worse than it is.

We have no idea when after the game this happened. Two seconds after the final whistle or 20 minutes. Even then, it sounds like all we have heard is the victim's side of the story and not the defenses's.

    A. He is not going to jail
    b. he should get more than a $1000 fine. Just to pay for all the police work and court system alone....tax payer dollars. nba fines you $100k for complaining about the refs. I think this warrants the fine. He can afford it.

He threw it twice....second one was the hard one.

Dodge balls are much smaller and softer than a basketball. And lighter. Basketball is a few pounds. It can break noses, fingers, and bruise.

Brooks did the same thing and people was calling him a headcase but I guess thats the way it goes.
Kyle I know you were mad but throwing a ball at a ref twice? Either way I don't think it is something worth jail time unless it knocked her out but it didn't.
