The Spurs are overrated. I don't see why we should concede the top four to them. The Rockets have the advantage at all but one position.

And the Lakers catching up to the top four is not a guarantee. I wouldn't be surprised if they were in the 6-8 range when all is said and done.

Agree with ZRB here. Only Kings and Marvs are seem out of reach for the rockets.

I have not being impressed with San Antonio this season so far. I thought they would be much better than 11-7. And they were losing to team like Denver, Pheonix, Portland, etc.

Lakers's problem is that they lacks bench depth. They would play decent with Both Shaq/Kobe in full-form. But if one of them is not in full-form, it will be hard for them to win games...

Rockets are still trying to find a good rotation. We just had our best game of the reason with Seattle, even though we are missing #2 scorer Cat. This team will have lots of room for improvement for the rest of the season.

Also, as expected, the Jazz get hammered the first time they play a decent team. Their big "win streak" came mostly against the Nuggets, Clippers, and Bulls.

I still think the Spurs are top 4 because at some point Duncan will start playing like he has the last three seasons, and that elevates the level of the players around him as well. Also, their total team defense is as strong as any.

I agree on the Lakers, though, ZRB. I don't expect them to stay with a losing record, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are around the .500 mark halfway through the season (meaning they go 14-9). They'll get it going and win 50 games, but no one can just step on the court and dominate the league. It'll take Shaq and the rest of the team a while to recapture their timing and chemistry.

Unless they do something insane like a 15 game winning streak, I'd say it's realistic to expect the Lakers to be at the 50-52 win mark. I think that's about where we'll be as well, so it's possible that we find a way to knock them off by a game or so.

I like the idea of May, but its too early to celebrate, or mourn. The difference between the team in west 3rd to 11th placing right now is just a matter a win here and a loss there. I sure do have lot of hope for the rockets....but I think the placing at All Star break would be more balanced view of the issue - I am sure some teams will by then join the Lebron Jamesitis - (did I say tanking). Really speaking I am having orgasms thinking a couple of years down the road.

Kind of like San Antonio did for the Duncan sweepstakes.;)

Hmm...I seem to remember you saying that the team wouldn't do some things...and they did...so...I kind of like this comment. :D

Keep on with the thoughts of the Rockets losing.

    Troll,

Anyways, I think the Rockets have a chance to be a great team THIS year!

The Lakers may struggle, and may even be dethroned this yr, but the West is still stacked you have to play good ball to be in there!

    ZRB,
I don't think the Spurs are overrated. However, they do have an Achilles heel!! They are next to last in freethrow percentage!! That's loose them some games down the stretch, not to mention playoff games!

this is just a milepost check up kind of thing. Where we're at, or such.

I'm hopeful the Rox gel and challenge the upper crust of the West, do some damage in the post season...
