http://espn.go.com/fantasy/blog/_/name/boxscore_basketball/id/7423062/houston-rockets-kyle-lowry-a-breakout-season Nice to see Lowry getting recognition. I was always worried about his 3 point shooting, but he proved me wrong last year and he's always been fun too watch. Hope he can keep it up through the year. I don't necessarily agree with the guy saying we are short on talent. We may not have all-stars, but we have a lot of good shooters and thats what the pg's rely on.
It might be tough for him to get to All-star game because his points probably wont match up with the top guys, but his rebounds could help some against that.
Other fun tidbits about our team only according to Holinger of course: 1) Thabeet is our PER leader at a whopping 82.27 haha and should be #1 above Lebron's league leading 35 something http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/4016/hasheem-thabeet 2) Lowry is #8 in PER since he plays enough minutes at 26.37 just below Carmelo: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/holl.../insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics 3) Dalembert is our 2nd best PER at #44
They're are a lot of guys that I would simply say are playing over their heads averaging those numbers over a five game stretch but Lowry feels like the real deal. He has constantly improved his shooting and passing, couple that with his natural ability to get to the ball and he really may be the 2nd best point guard in the west.
The All-Star game is relative to the Pro Bowl, you always get voted in a year late, and stay in there a year too long.
And in my opinion, Rondo is way to limited. Great defensive guy, tons of speed, shoots like I do (not a compliment)
Lowry is indeed having a great season. However, if Lowry is your best player (which he currently is), there is no way you can win anythying in this league.
The assists and the rebounding will regress. But maybe he has taken an incremental step forward. If he can be a 15/9/5 guy that's still pretty special. Not a superstar, but a very good point guard, considering his defense.
