I can't disagree with you on that. Arenas has been looking like a true baller at the pg position for Golden State but doesn't have that leadership a pg should have. Swopa, I see you read the same article on Insider as I read lol. It might be false but I do not know the whole story so I just have to go by what I read.
Rafer would've fit right in with the Warriors because with the way they shoot they could lay enough bricks to build the Golden Gate Bridge by themselves. P.S: I like the direction they are going with Richardson, Arenas, etc.
I hate how street ball mix tapes acts like the street players should be stars in the league, but never get a chance, because they are streetballers and crap like that. If they really are fit to play in the league, I'm sure someone would sign them.
Well first off these guys aren't streetballers they are basketball players. All of these guys were either High Shool studs or College studs and either the law stopped them from going to the pros or injury. Whatever happened to Chris Hightower? He played a cuople of seasons with Hornets I guess he just couldnt get a job or just gave it up. I think he is the one behind all of this and 1 mixtapes.
It's called court vision, which Rafer Alston lacks... It's called decision making, which Rafer Alston doesn't have... It's called a midrange game, which Rafer Alston wishes he had... It's called being a successful team player.
If you have the ability to make someone look stupid in a street game, it doesn't mean that you are good enough to make it to the league.
I think Rafer was on the wrong team with Milwaukee, or maybe with the wrong coach. With GS he just barely missed out. I think he deserves a better chance. He seems a little overrated with all the playground legend hype, but he can definitely play and has to be better than several back-up PGs. Look at the extra attention an NBA team would get just for signing him and letting him play 10 minutes a game. I'm sure he wouldn't do much worse than Mooch usually does this season. His jumper has also improved alot and I don't think he'd be stupid enough to try the same stuff on the playground in the NBA. He isn't that foolish or else he would never have even gotten a shot at the league.
Yea alot of these guys are just talking out of there asses they don't know Rafer Alston from Raef Lafrentz. All of those things you are naming only describes a couple of players in this league. Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Steve Nash and Sam Cassell just to name a few. There aren't Payton's and Kidds just sitting on benches in the NBA.
Jack Frost: But many PGs do have a semblance of that quality...Rafer Alston does not. He's in the long line of streetballers whose game just does not translate very well into the NBA.
I've seen the AND 1 Tapes and was FAR FROM IMPRESSED a bunch of bull**** that would be called in the league is not Traveling ... Fouling.. . .double dribbling that type of stuff.[they should scenes of Rafer in the league . . .He was shocked when it was called on him. . . his lil hopstep or skip .. . .got called for traveling at midcourt with no one on him] I'm not oppose to streetball but it is quite different than NBA BALL Rocket River
