Kmart is averaging 2.8 FTA per game. Its only five games, but based on watching the games they are no longer calling the Kmart fouls. Is this why Morey was trying to ship him out? Now that it appears they are not calling those fouls what will Kmarts new value be? He can still shoot, but can he still be a super efficient player w/o FTs?
Nailed it, I expect his efficiency to drop significantly this year without the Adelman offense...and the lack of his up and under fouls. DD
It's funny, because the mineral pyrite, commonly referred to as "fools gold" is normally distinguished from real gold with a "streak" test. Regardless, I think that Martin/Scola/Dragic for Gasol is looking preetttyy good right about now.
That is what I was referencing in the up and under where you get your arms under the defender and jump up... DD
It's weird cause I still see this kind of foul getting called a LOT in other games (the pump fake foul). KMart used to use this a lot but I haven't even seen him try this season.
I do think the refs are clearly marking him. Maybe Morey should make a stink in the press about this. That said, Martin doesn't have his legs with him yet--as evidenced by all of the short shots he had. I expect his shooting to get more consistent in a few weeks.
Aside from the Pau Gasol being a douchebag part... I would rather piss rocks than have to watch that guy in a Rocket uniform...
That's still a foul. Just not a shooting foul when it involves sideways movement. My guess is Martin will get his share of foul shots eventually.
He is not using the move though, I mean it gets you in the penalty quicker. Honestly, our guys are getting wide open shots, they are just not hitting them consistently.... DD
Still gets the same numbers pretty much. It seems like he could get even more and they are intentionally not calling even more obvious fouls against him as well. I dont know? He has roughly the same value as he always had. The only thing is he doesnt get the top players on other teams in foul trouble anymore. League directly fixed it so they could have a alibi for a reason for that. I dont get it. Its not a thing league wide you can notice as a problem except for Kevin Martin.
Like I said in the other thread. Philly was interested in a Martin for Igoudala swap last year, I think we should do it. Martin and Williams for Iguodala and Speights.
Follow the Nuggets blueprint. A Lee, Batum, and Bud wing rotation has right mix of 3pt shooting and defense.
They way some of you make it is a black and white issue: either he gets great free throw numbers or low free throw numbers. I'm sure as Martin tests and watches what gets called he can adjust. Now does that mean we get a repeat of last year, most likely not, but give Martin some credit that he has the ability to adjust his game a bit.
Except no one listens to you anymore because you are impossible to understand with LilBJ's nuts in your mouth.
