I grew up playing Basketball, it was my favorite hobby. When it came time to choose a team to follow, I chose the Rockets because, aside from having the big three, they represented the best chance to beat Jordan. In those times in my country, the main way I had to follow them was trough the afternoon paper, where I got to see the boxscore and sometimes the AP recap of the game, I think I only got to see them play twice a year, on tv. I still remember checking the standings and seeing us dominating the west with a 30-8 record, before injuries started to derail that team. I still remember the heartbreaking afternoon when I found out Stockton made that three.

I think that childhood of malnourished Rocket fandom has made me the rabid fan I am today. In the internet age, I get to see 90 percent of games, and each one still feels, as Carl Herrera would say, like a blessing in the skies! The masses have TV, I have the Rockets for opium.

That's the kind of Rocket fan I am, one who romanticizes about it.

    We generally have likeable guys.

I like underdogs and we are generally the underdog.

    This team never gives up.

    Full of surprises.

There's no specific requirements, but a high pain tolerance is usually recommended.

My favorite players atm are Patpat and Martin but if they were traded I would still watch the Rockets and I would probably forget about those players. I used to be a Brooks fan but I havent caught myself up with him since he left.

Also my inability to watch any other teams and have fun doing it.

I've been a fan since '89 (I was born in '84). For the last 6 years, I've watched every Rockets' game played. Chilly Pete to the max!

I love Houston, I remember the twin towers blocking shots in the 80's and the Championships in the 90's....I could go on forever.

    Rockets fan

I became a Rockets in the early 70s when the San Diego Rockets moved to Houston. I no longer live in the USA, but I spend an hour or so each day following my team. ClutchFans is the first web site I open each morning to learn of any news of the Rockets. I really appreicate your comments on any updates. I only get to watch a few games each year when we visit family in Houston.

I only became a fan because of Clyde (the announcer not the player), that guy is so clever.<a href="http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php" title="Smiley"><img src="http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing011.gif" alt="Smiley" border="0" /></a>

After seeing Hakeem (actually he was Akeem at the time?) Olajuwon walk into the Denny's near Northgate Forest when I was 3 years old... still one of my only memories from that age that I still remember. This was around 1988/89.

I first started watching the Rockets in the 06-07 season, when I was just finding my love for basketball as the only sport I had ever played or watched previously was baseball. Then I got to see Artest come and then all the hype as well, and then Scola quickly became my favorite player and still is. Haven't missed a game since 07.

Well spoken, I like to watch the young players develop and hate to see some of them leave. Remember when Chuck first started he was a foul machine like Hill is now, but he learned. Will be glad to see him play just the 4 position.
