Rockets and Pacers both have very very good young talents. But they are a lot better team than Rockets. They beat very very good teams. But Rockets lost very very badly to good or average teams. Perhaps the organization as a whole is better than Rockets and maybe coach is only part of the problem. And it worries me when Mr Rudy Tomjanovich says he "did not a decision on rotation". It scares the players too.

Indiana also had a full year of playing together with the same players. Each of their key young players Artest, O'Niel, Miller are blossoming into all-stars.

Give the Rockets a full year of playing together and time for Ming and Griffin to develop.

    hama,

If you want to steal my idea ;) http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46558 at least follow what I said.

I was comparing the Pacers a couple of years ago with the current Rockets for they are both young and talented. I pointed out that Thomas got bashed by not fixing his rotation when the team was growing up. Rudy might well be doing the same. Why do you think Thomas is a better coach than Rudy when they do the same thing and got bashed by the same thing?

And let's hope that the Rockets take less time than the Pacers to grow up.

I watched the pacers vs mavs game last night. They dumped the ball down low to J O'neal EVERY single trip down the court in the 4th quarter. And J O'neal converted enough of those shots to win the games for the pacers. That's what rudy should've been doing. Have the big man at least have a touch every single trip down the court. Play the higher percentage game! Gosh, It sounds like a no brainer.

So, you are saying the ball should go to Yao or Cato.

I never liked Rudy's offensive schemes.
I'll give him credit for changing up the offense this year.

But, I still think that he uses the old simple play too much (predictable).

He just reminds me too much of Tupper Turtle. I wish he wasn't such
    a wus!

Rudy! Speak up! Stop being so wimpy!

He did speak up about his "skeleton offense" anyway.

But I tell you, I'm the one wasting away watching it.

I think every one agrees the Mavs weakness is size under the basket,,Yao scored 30pts in 33 min @Dallas
    O'Neal ........28pts in 40min
Cato wasnt available for the game. He may have been a factor.

But the real difference in the two games was Nowitzki and Findley.
Against the Rockets 20 for 40 for 52 points
Against the Pacers 11 for 40 for 33 points
They were red hot against the league for l3 games, and cooled off in #14.

    Rudy: 2
    Isiah: 0

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Isiah is a bad coach. I didn't like him at all when he first came in and tore apart that finals team of the Pacers, but it looks like he knows what he was doing. The Pacers have been my 2nd favorite team for a long time, mainly because Reggie is my favorite non-Rocket, but they haven't done anything yet.

If this Rockets team comes through, Rudy could win championships with two completely different teams. Isiah is just getting started. I just hope the two don't meet in the finals, while Reggie is still playing.

On *********** they ripped me for dissing Rudy. How would they know if he is a good coach? They probably watch 1-2 Rockets games a year. Rudy is awful.

I only consider 3 coaches in the game today better than him.

    Jackson
    Brown
    Rivers

One coach that should get back in is Jeff Van Gundy. With a team that has a lick of offense, he'd make them be a top seed.

I hope they do meet Reggie. That'll mean we've gotten real good, real quick. That and the Lakers will not win it.

I would go with that. Though the Rivers/Rudy debate can be solidly it wouldn't be ridiculous to list him over Rudy. I think that speaks volumes of him, I still think Rudy is a Top 5 coach, and he is proving it by COMPLETELY rebuilding a team from a championship team that had to be dismantled to a young team that is currently on pace to make the playoffs.

Oh enlightened one, please tell us who is better than the coach with a sweet first name and then maybe we all will see the light.

But, it's more likely you forgot that your brain is for speaking and your a** is used for depositing certain waste products, because I think once again you have reversed their roles.

So name better coaches than the man named Rudy, please? I can think of Larry Brown, Rivers and Jackson. That's 3, not counting Rudy, that leaves 25 for you to choose from.

Good luck, and we'll all be waiting for your timely and intelligent response.

Isiah Thomas is NOT a good coach.

Rudy went 15-0 against his sorry ass division two years ago.

Carlisle is a good coach. Adleman is a good coach. Paul Silas is a good coach. Jerry Sloan is good. Byron Scott has done a good job thus far.

It is really hard to tell at times whether or not a coach in basketball is good. Popovich always gets ragged on for being an overrated coach, but if you look at results, he has certainly done a decent job.
