What player calls the shots on this team? IMO there is no true leader on this club. Francis is working on it but he has a long road to hold. I hope Ming will be that ALFA-MALE ! (Project Playoffs)- "Work them over in the Middle!"

Francis without a doubt. I highly doubt Ming will ever be the leader, I just don't see the rest of the rockets following his lead.

I agree Francis is the leader and eventually Yao Ming will be the best player. The Point Guard position should be the one at the helm. Even so, I think that Moochie is the alfa-male in the true sence.

I don't see why Ming cannot be the leader down the road. He seems to be one of the most mature Rockets.. He can handle pressure. He got the respect of his teammate. He is smart and had skills. He doesn't get technical foul that cause us the ball game. He doesn't whine when he is not playing. He put his team first before any personal success. He got a great love for the game. To me he got all the characters to be a true leader. Eventually, he will be the one that lead us to the championship. Although it will be a team effort, Ming will definitely will play a great role if we hope to get there.

A true leader will makes everybody else in the team play better. In this aspect, I agree with basketball that Ming will be the leader when he matures. Great team altitude. Selfishness. Great passing skill. Dominance in the paint. He is already drawing double/triple team on the court and opens up the parimeter for his team mates.

A similar comparison in Shaq/Kobe. The debate of who is real leader in LAL is long over when Shaq returned. Even thought not at his full form yet, Shaq is already making everybody in lakers playing better. They have two tough losses on the road. But before Shaq returned, the lakers are losing to everybody.

I also agree with everyone that Stevie and Yao are the main leaders on this team. But I also see Glen Rice as a leader for the time he's in Houston.

I think our most serious problem is, we have no "Beta Wolf".

However, my vote for Alpha Wolf would be Francis and my vote for "Omega Wolf" goes to Jason Collier. :D
