I hate making threads while watching a game but while I was watching the game everybody noticed that Jordan hill can't play D and keeps getting into foul trouble. If hasheem thabeet was in the game he would be doing the same thing hill is doing getting into foul trouble and not playing solid D. If you had a choice who would you have on the team and why?
He isn't dropping his ass enough (sarcasm) Dude is weak of course he gonna get pounded. And thabeet is stronger but dumb.
you shouldn't make threads during the game. Did you watch the game? if you did, you would notice Jordan Hill was the man with 15 boards. And you would have Thabeet dressed nicely in a suit ready for NYE.
I'm not about to give Hill some credit for good D so far this season, but in that game I thought he held his own. I saw a few plays where Hill would mirror the guard trying to drive through the lane on the outside and sometimes just the fact that he was there prevented an easy basket. So there's some defensive ball IQ going on. I think McHale and that staff is trying to work on him really hard to at least be good on the defensive end.
Thabeet didn't get playing time in Memphis, under Adelman, and as of right now under McHale. Jordan Hill has played decent minutes for both Adelman and McHale. Regardless of whether you feel Thabeet has better potential on D than Hill, he's currently the obvious worse player. Hill will get bullied by stronger bigs. But overall he has athleticism and has some skills. Thabeet can just sit in the paint and alter/block shots.
Hill had 3 fouls. You are also forgetting we have the Dalembert guy. It really should be Hill vs Dalembert. Thabeet didn't even get garbage time in the last game vs his old team the Grizz.
If I did hill vs dalembert then people would say dalembert is better because of the D he plays and would have more points and blocks. I want to say hill will probly have more rebounds then dalembert
Because he was inactive. Patrick Patterson came back from injury and was active in his place. Who would you rather get the burn in that situation? A 2nd year player that is showing promise to potentially part of this teams future or a 3rd year guy that 2 different teams and coaches have given up on? I'm not saying he's a complete bust yet but you gotta earn it in training camp and during practices and shoot arounds. Thats how guys like Parsons got inserted into the rotation and in the past it's how Landry and Brooks got more playing time.
Jordan doesn't have enough ass, whether it is dropped or raised up. He would be a lot better if he had Chuck Hayes' ass.
So Thabeet, the guy averaging 6.8 PFs per 36 minutes for his career (and who had 5 PFs in 27 preseason minutes) will be more effective at defending without fouling?
